And let's be fair the two Spanish girls despite lots of chances never even looked like getting points in GP racing, but maybe they should nbot have been pushed there in the first place.
It sells tickets and gets TV viewers though, and ultimately, that's all Dorna Care about at the end of the day
It'd be good to see some girls getting up there in the bigger classes, but can't see it happening any time soon
There's lots of girls in both European and UK domestic SS300 classes though, and maybe 10 in BSB JSS
Charlotte Marcuzzo got a pole position at Silverstone BSB last summer from her lap in race one, and hopefully one of the girls can start pushing for podiums this season as there's a few a fair few of them, and a couple of them are pretty decent just need to take that next step and be a bit more aggressive

Tinmouth for me never was a success, she got a lot of chances and never did much on big bikes, should have perhaps stayed in 600 where she was top 10 material, the jump was too much.
Except at the TT where i believe she still holds the record for the fastest woman at somewhere around 120mph average.
No, it won't worry the likes of Hickman, Harrison or Dunlop but a 120mph lap is not to be sneezed at by anyone.

Granted she wasn't a raging success at BSB but i can remember being at Donington years ago when there was a track day on and she was there getting some practice in i think, either way some guy in the fast class started running his mouth abotu how it was no place for girls.

She wiped the floor with him big time and of course his mates took the proverbial. Fast rider for sure, maybe not the fastest but still fast nonetheless.

Heck I am not saying she was slow or should not have been there, merely that at the very top level in BSB she was a little off the pace, quicker than the vast majority and agreed very good at the TT, it is tough to be top level for guys, so when you are picking up talent from a pool that is already small for anyone to get to that level is an achievement.

Cat Green I think was the name of the girl that won a 125 race? Never knew what happened to her

I wasn't for one minute suggesting that you were, it just reminded me of that amusing story. smile

Didn't she have a bad crash that put her out for a while ?

I really can't remember, I think it was the 2 stroke 125 era and I seem to recall it was maybe Oulton in the wet and she rode beautifully to win. At the time there were three or fours lasses in the 125's but she was far and away the best.

I've not seen anything mentioned anywhere of his ride for this season.

So I'm saying not missed it.

WSB/WSS Portimao test live timing.

https://livetiming.getraceresults.com/autodromodoa...

Spot one M. OLIVEIRA getting some practice in.

Any idea about Tarran? He was supposed to be out on the MIE WSS Honda, but has broken his foot?

B Ray is present.

A lot of your remember Taru Rinne, she was a waif like Finnish initial kart racer and damn quick too but then 125 GP rider who was very quick indeed. Her career was cut short for reasons I cannot recall.

A girl also won a 125 race a few years in BSB, Cat something was her name, but again her career fizzled out, Tinmouth for me never was a success, she got a lot of chances and never did much on big bikes, should have perhaps stayed in 600 where she was top 10 material, the jump was too much.

I can recall seeing Katja Poensgen winning Supremono races in the 90's and she was decent on a 600 and 1000, but never did anything on a GP bike sadly.

And let's be fair the two Spanish girls despite lots of chances never even looked like getting points in GP racing, but maybe they should nbot have been pushed there in the first place.
She was racing at the time when a certain B Eccestone managed to get his fingers into GP racing and her face didn't fit. She was capable of leading races and top ten results but was told by the poison dwarf that she 'wasn't qualified'

This is why I loathe Dorna, neither of the women racers are really worthy of the rides they have had, unless you want to box tick.

I would suggest if they were any other nationality they would not have such long careers. As soon as anyone good came into 300 she was midfield.
First time out on a stock 600 and she was 1.8s slower than Munoz, who many reckon is the next Moto GP superstar, in a sunny but cold test day. I'd do well to be within 25 seconds of him, and you 30! biggrin;)

Gollam should keep his trap shut. It is an open test with all manner of machines and riders out there. He acts surprised that he has a high closing speed on a stock 600 bike when he is on his WSBK championship winning bike with a significant speed advantage over even the other factory bikes. It's weird isn't it, that he was not the fastest superbike round the lap, but the only one who crashed and blamed a slower bike / rider for it.
When Carassco gets eyes in the back of her head, or mirrors on her bike, maybe he can blame her, but if he is closing so fast from behind, and he cannot avoid her without crashing, that's his fault, not her's in my book, no matter what the inhabitants of Middle Earth think.

I agree as well though. He’s looking ahead, she’s not looking behind and rightly so.

I did the Brands school run by the late Geoff Crooksbain and his exact words were
Whoever is behind has to overtake, you don't give way

Gollum must have forgotten that
