BMW will never go to GO they are committed to their own Superbikes and are currently spending a bunch on WEC and GT3, the S1000 is a good selling bike and is clearly a very good road bike, if they were going to GP they would have done it a long time ago when Ezpeleta was courting them far more than he is now.
And the reason for their stubbornness re. the electronics, so I believe, i.e. the more they develop and refine them in racing, the better they are for the road…flatlandsman said:

Why not? There is intense rivalry between German motor manufacturers, where you find one dominating it does not take long for another to join inouninpohja said:

There are, AFAIK, only two German manufacturers producing Bikes, BMW and Maico., (small off road concern), Kalex make frames, where's the rivalry exactly?CypSIdders said:

Dan Linfoot excluded from both races at the seaon ending Brands Hatch round due to technical irregularities, Richard Kerr is declared Champion.
Linfoot must be sick to his stomach
Seems incredibly harsh, but rules are rules especially in a 'stock' racing class. Linfoot must be sick to his stomach
Linfoot will be gutted but I highly doubt Kerr is jumping with joy. He will, and we all, know that there won't really be a tangible competitive advantage to using a different reservoir.
They have the full PDF on here - https://motorsport.radio/bsb-dan-linfoot-stripped-...
Madness. Appeal out of time, bike released from Parc ferme, no Superstock technical expert to even check properly.

It wasn’t the reservoir, it was the master cylinder Linfoot will be gutted but I highly doubt Kerr is jumping with joy. He will, and we all, know that there won't really be a tangible competitive advantage to using a different reservoir.
The reservoir mounting location was what gave it away
The blurb basically says also that the team were invited to present the bike for technical inspection a few days later, and the MC had been changed back to the OEM one, so they knew they were cheating
The main loser in all this is the stk1000 class itself as it’s just another nail in its coffin, unfortunately

What a silly mistake on the part of the team. Presumably they were running a legal master cylinder for the rest of the year? Seems madness to risk throwing the championship away at the last round like that. It's not like Linfoot needed an unfair advantage.
Yeah, all seems a little oddLinfoot’s a class act (and should be with seasons of SBK experience) so it’s not like he needed any advantage
Especially, as at BSB, the stakes are high and teams will object to even the slightest little thing so it was silly of the team not to be running a totally compliant bike
I guess we’ll never know why it happened

Not necessarily, might not have been noticed by the protesting team until the last roundouninpohja said:

To play devils advocate: If I was the team that noticed something iffy on a competitors bike and was in a championship battle, I’d wait until a key point to grass them up as that’d have the biggest impact
It’s very rare that anyone raises an infringement objection to a competitors bike in FP1, and for good reason

Not necessarily, might not have been noticed by the protesting team until the last roundI cant see it being protested now, but this claim was outside the protest window, so never say never. But i suspect it will just die of death now and fans will forever boo at Kerr!
