Those will be good, but IMHO the plastic is better for general jobs. Although I'm probably just paranoid about shorting out electrics when working with them.I love these threads, it's great to see how everyone manages their space and acts as a great inspiration and sower of seeds for ideas.
Over the years we've gone from on road parking to off road parking which was a massive move, then from a tiny garage that couldn't really accommodate a modern car but allowed you just to get the nose in to do engine work out of the rain which was a huge bonus. Having any sort of garage is such a luxury really, to be able to work on a vehicle out of the rain or even just being able to polish something in the dry without it raining on it instantly!

I use carpet tiles in my garage, when they get a bit dirty I replace them, it helps I work in construction and every now and then come across some tiles that are being stripped out.

I started out with my bike under a cover in mums back yard, then I was well chuffed when I got my own place with off street parking and a shed. Later on in life I finally achieved the dream to have a house with a garage AND a separate timber workshop for all the DIY/garden/cycle stuff.
Its great to have a tidy clean place to work on the bike, whatever that space is

Got the idea from a thread on here last week about flooring and I've laid some carpet tiles. Probably going to be a nightmare to brush off and keep clean but better than the old patchy painted concrete.
Just need to sort the shelving/workbench crap out now.
