Jesus . It’s not hard to know if it’s hiss or not. If it is it will have a bigger key and plastic hear the lock with hiss written on it.
Probably got an alarm ripped out of it, or the thieves have mucked with something.
The coils will be always be live, they are triggered when earthed through the cdi.
Looked at fuses ?

Is there a red flashing light (possibly key shaped or logo'd) on the dash when you turn the ignition on?
The ways to know if you have HISS are:
1) Bigger key - but we know the keys aren't there...
2) HISS aerial around the lock - but we know the lock was damaged so this could have gone "missing"
3) HISS sticker on the tank - assuming the tank hasn't been changed/resprayed
4) Red flashing light on the dash - much harder to get away from.
As I said above, I believe a UK Market Hornet 600 F2 would not have HISS although I'm far from an expert. Looking at examples on eBay I see 2004 (registered) Hornets that do not have it and 2005 that do. All of the 2002 registered that show the ignition area do not have HISS.

Barrel got broken out during theft - presumably they chucked it away & attempted to hot wire the bike, so no HISS markings.... Probably got an alarm ripped out of it, or the thieves have mucked with something.

No evidence of an alarm being fitted, & apart from the ignition barrel, the wiring loom looks in good original condition.
Thanks for the kind offer - I will pass this on....

Not sure that's quite correct.Probably got an alarm ripped out of it, or the thieves have mucked with something.

Here's a pic of my 2002 X11 and if it wasn't for the HISS sticker on the tank you'd never know.
