Quick wash, kick tyres, check chain. Pass MOT. Should be good for another 1700 miles!

The -1c and calvacade of gritters out last night has put paid to getting the Tuono back out on the road again for at least another week.

The north sucks.

Nice selection of bikes OP.

I've traded my Guzzi V7 for a used Kawasaki Z1000sx this year as I missed the performance but don't have the spine for a full on sports bike.

I've spent the last week removing a heap of mostly bright green stickers and other after market crap from the bike, and putting back to standard.

Just about got it to the state where I can feel its appropriate for my age.

The only guy I ride with however got himself a puppy over winter, so biking for him is off the cards. Looks like I'll be going solo if i don't find new riding friends.

Have been out a few times this year, but often had the issue of pads and discs sticking together, despite cleaning the calipers. This appeared to be due to the very posh AP Racing pads not liking being put away wet next to the ultra budget Motodisc discs.

I don't think brakes are a place to economise on a FireBlade, so wheel off to fit some Brembo Serie Oro stuff. Good chance to check wheel bearings and slap a thick layer of wax on the wheel too. So glad I now have a garage!

Don't worry, it's raining down South anyway!

Very jealous of your garage - its high on my wishlist when we move. My tools are in the loft and there's always one more I forget to bring down.

Someone told me that it is poor form to turn a mountain bike upside down - I could only think that it could let in air on hydraulic brakes?

If air could be let in that way the hydraulic fluid would be getting squeezed out every time you use the brakes!

Threading the chain through the derailleurs properly, putting the tyres on the right way and threading pedals to the cranks all become a little bit trickier when you have to rotate things in your head though.

New bike 2020 Aprilia Tuono v4 factory. Matte black.

Added some wheel rim tape to lift the dull black wheels. Fresh mot passed no issues.

2 rides so far, both resulted in a very dirty back and rear end due to the tail tidy which does look great.

Having spent years doing spannering on a patio on a council estate, it was an essential when we moved last year. Double garage means I can get the Impreza in as well as toys and all the wife's gardening stuff.

Insurance renewal is due towards the end of next month, so 'twill be a good time to swap bikes about. No point in doing anything sooner as I'm still awaiting the all clear from my recent eye surgery...
Planning on putting the Harley FXR back on the road, it's been sat for about five years, but with a splosh of fuel and a borrowed battery, fired up fine. It hasn't been used due to not being comfortable, but I've removed the high bars, changed the forwards for mid controls and various other bits, so fingers crossed... I've also added a few go faster bits, adjustable suspension and twin discs, so I'm hoping I can still ride it.

Also, fancy changing this for something like an XJR1300/ZR1100, should be a bit like one of my old go faster Zeds, but without the old age! I need a comfy two up bike and have never really gelled with the Legend.

And the old Laverda is just quietly sitting waiting... do miss it, but not being allowed out means it hasn't been used since about October. Fired it up t'other day just to sit and listen to it... 'Tis good that we don't have any neighbours.

Both had the mot, just need to Tax them on the 1st..
Not sure whether to sell the zx6r yet, will probably want to keep it when I go on the first ride of the year.. The 916 will just visit local bike meets throughout the year.

Not a sports bike fan, not ridden one for a good few years, but the 916 is stunning.

Cheers pal, I'm getting on the wrong side of age for these now haha , after a ride my wrists are killing ..

The 916 was a dream bike that I had to have from the age of 15
