I still think it will be Glenn Irwins championship to lose but the OMG boys, Kent, Honda UK, FHO, ROKiT BMW, Skinner and O Halloran will have something to say about it.
Going to be a great season i think
I just think the OMG outfit has the better more stable team, PMB has had a bit of a shake up last year with Paul Passing, and this year they only running 1 bike which has got to have a negative on getting data. Going to be a great season i think
Lets see how we are after round 3 Donington.

Same goes for FHO, if they don't play a big part in this years championship then you would think questions might well be asked about why they can't feature at the sharp end. Especially if Haslam and Skinner do really well also, then you would epxect BMW to start asking what is going on.
But yes, after round 3 at Donington we should have a better idea of how the year will pan out.

I disagree but we shall soon see but you can't help but think, if he doesn't win it this year questions have to be asked.

Re FHO and BMW word on the street is that BMW know whats lacking in the current bike and is planning an entirely new one next year so I'm not sure expectations in house at the BWM team will be that high.Same goes for FHO, if they don't play a big part in this years championship then you would think questions might well be asked about why they can't feature at the sharp end. I've also been quite surprised at how many people are saying its Glens to lose. Despite the the team staying together and the bike being the dominant force last year, I don't believe this is the same PBM of years gone by in terms of budget etc. How are they going to be in terms of improving the bike as the year goes on compared to the likes of Honda?
I don't see any excuses for Honda or Yamaha to be seriously struggling against the Ducati this year, Ryde needs to have a big year and would be my choice if I had to pick the champion now.

This. The team formerly known as PBM has a much reduced budget, no experienced leadership, last year's bike and no new spares package. They may well start 2024 as strongly as they finished 2023, but I expect them to run out of puff.I don't see any excuses for Honda or Yamaha to be seriously struggling against the Ducati this year, Ryde needs to have a big year and would be my choice if I had to pick the champion now.
Honda, on the other hand, are desperate for wins and have an unlimited budget to make themselves glorious on their new bike, their reputation (and sales) hangs on it. Why else do you think they went for last year's champ in addition to the two already on the books?
Yamaha have been quick out of the box for a number of years, O'Halloran throwing the championship away late season on more than one occasion, but Ryde is ready and able.
For me, as a wild card, Skinner on the BMW.

Im a big Hicky supporter, but I think his life is the TT and then running PHR, BSB is to keep him sharp and in the limelight I think.
I suspect the focus required to nail the title is a lot more than he can give when the TT is foremost in his mind.
Going to be an interesting year, and for me, I think its time Kyle came to the fore and showed his ability.

I think there are a lot of people who have to deliver this year and some who will be hungry and eyeing up the bigger rides.I suspect the focus required to nail the title is a lot more than he can give when the TT is foremost in his mind.

I agree about Hicky but part of him wants to do well on the mainland as well as far as i remember from an interview a few years ago.

Dukes have lost some revs this year too. BMW have less power also (I've heard 260bhp quoted for last season!).
Might not make much difference given the BSB tracks.
Power reduction won't have a big impact on UK tracks. I've seen Leon's data and he barely uses 100% throttle at most tracks in anything below 5th gear, and even when he does, he's using the back brake Might not make much difference given the BSB tracks.
To put my stake in the ground, I'd say Haslam has a good chance this year, as does Vickers and Glenn
For an outside Bet, Danny Kent is going to be very fast. He's a class act, and he's now on a bike that can compete with a newly very strong team behind it
It's a tough year to call though, but I will say that it's unlikely that Navarra performances will be anything like representative of how the season will pan out

The 2024 BSB grid is now settled.
So shall we start a new thread for the actual racing?...
Let the competition begin, and may the best man win.
