Think Marc is going to struggle as you could visibly see the gp24 pulling away on acceleration
Few times his was wheelying and losing ground noteaby I think Bex got by him when he wheelied in fact.

Good to see Bez getting to grips with the 23 now too.
Marc is testing a thumb brake this week. He's never used one before apparently, and is expected to help him get off the corners.

With respect to the GP23 v GP24 -- I have noticed that MM slides the rear less and also is very quick to stand the bike up on the exit of bends for the maximum traction and acceleration. It'll be interesting to see whether this riding style evolves throughout the season, as it'll be to determine what his future holds.

I suspect shortly after Mugello Marc will be signed with Ducati.

Fair play to Pecco for putting it up the inside of MM93, but I think any argument he has moving forwards about MM93 being to aggressive has gone firmly out of the window.
Very good point. Marquez was beaming ear to ear after Sunday’s race. I think he feels like he’s got someone to race hard with now and that’s his environment.

And, not to ignore, he has a bike under him that he can race on.

Yep, been quite apparent since the beginning of the season. Whether it's the new bike or less advantageous mapping for satellite bikes, who knows. He's making the difference but as usual it means he's riding harder, which is always a worry with him.

Being a Marc fan in the second half of his career is bloody stressful. The haters are still in full force on all the socials, only came second etc. That win is coming but regardless, you have to be blind not to see that he's still got it.
That second place was MMs 4th race on a Ducati, in a field of Ducatis. He's still got it.

I'm surprised and pleased at myself for rooting for Marquez.

Love him or loathe him he's really spiced things up.

In his early years I struggled to like him but with everything hes been through his sheer determination to come back and absolute bloody mindedness to prove to everyone he's still got it, it's impossible not to admire.

I'm the same.. wasn't his biggest fan (that's probably underestimating it to), and I can't explain what has changed, but weirdly, I actually see him as a bit of an underdog and when you see how bad the Hondas are now, it makes you realise just how hard he was pushing to try and stay the the front on what appears to be a very poor bike.. And now find myself willing him on.

I think watching how happy he was after the battle (and contact from Pecco) he was actually shows that he just really enjoys racing..

I’ve always been a Marquez fan. For me he’s up there with Colin McRae and Ayrton Senna. That sheer determination, speed and commitment. Always pulling shapes that others don’t, achieving the seemingly impossible, visibly faster than the others, the attitude of the vehicle as its pushed beyond its performance envelope, that rare balance between being over the limit but not crashing and regularly entering that zone and the do or die trying attitude where its win or bin, it’s something to behold. The way Marquez rode through nigh on the entire grid on that day of his accident, he made the rest of the pack look like newbies.

Marquez has always been a favourite of mine, I’ll still never forget his save when the front was gone, and his performance leading up to his injury when he blitzed everyone, remarkable. Probably my GOAT and to watch him push that dog of a Honda to do things it just couldn’t was mega. I can’t imagine any of the stuffed suits in F1 having as much fun smile

There’s no space at KTM, Aprilia can’t perform week in week out, Yamaha 2yrs away from race wins, Honda even further.. what’s left than upgrading your ‘23 bike to a ‘25 bike…. MM93 to partner Pecco in ‘26.

According to the Oxley Bom podcast from last week ( and their insider in the Duc factory camp ) it’s a cert that MM will be in the Factory team next season. Already done deal apparently.

That would definitely be exciting!

But maybe a bit too exciting for Ducati's liking.

Anyway based on what we've had so far it's shaping up to be an exciting season. biggrin

Yeah, he was finished rofl

I can see a factory Ducati as well. Meanwhile KTM need to replace at least one of theirs…
