Hi All,

Since my 1st service, my bike hasn't used any oil - it's now on 2300 miles. Most of my trips have been fast riding (rear tyre almost needs replacing) up and down the gears so I would have thought some would have been used. I've also attended one track day... It's strange as my mates 2006 R6 has used oil to the point where the warning light came on the other day.

Any ideas on whether this is normal - obviously I prefer this situation to one where it was burning loads of the stuff!

Thanks,

Rob.

Sounds good, or would you expect some usage?
Like your mate, my R6 must use a bit of oil, as the light came on a while back. I thought I'd checked it, but the dealer said it was very low!!

Don't know really, I would have expected some usage being that it's not been driven slow

Hi Rob,

Mines the same, as are at least 3 others that I know of. The Gixer doesn't use any oil at all. That includes 5 day 2000 mile hoons to the Alps and back, running at over 186 in top for 5 minutes at a time etc, etc Love it to bits!

Mine doesn't seem to use any oil.

However, I have had it changed twice to date.

Nope my K6 doesn't use any either, funnily enough neither did my 99 R1 and those had a rep as oil drinkers, well actually it did start to use a bit towards the end of my ownership but I was thrashing it a bit then to keep up with newer bikes.

Mine doesn't use any either. I had a 99R1 before (must be a natural progression) and that used more oil than petrol.
