Good to meet you lads today, had a great day. I bloused out of the final session too as my brakes were cooked by lunchtime and by my last session the lever was touching the bar and doing bugger all - luckily Twins have plenty of engine braking hehe

Next time i'll be getting the suspension set up though, the TLR just does not handle well at all - bucking and weaving as I leant it over, and on two occasions I braked at the end of pit straight and fishtailed so badly that it was visible to my friend on the pit wall!

Anyway, as Martin has posted a shot, here's a shot of me from session 2 went it was relatively warm, and another shot from my penultimate session - it was so cold I didn't feel happy leaning it as far (i'm on Conti Road Attack touring tyres!) so I took to messing around dragging my knee instead - there's a noticeable difference in lean! Funny thing is though, they say to ignore the presence of the lensman - but in this shot i'm bang to rights!

Good to see you all had a good day today.

Scary eyes dave, looking a bit like Mr C Fogarty.

Wow, £69 well spent, talk about value for money. A great start to the day with a sunny morning made sure there was plenty of grip to be had.

Met with Mad Dave and Rawrr and all set up in garage 8C. Great to meet you both, you both looked to be thoroughly enjoying yourselves out there!!

A sausage and egg roll ensured suitable energy levels and then out we went. I can't believe how busy it was!! Loads of Yellow Jackets braving the cold.

All in all a great day even though it clouded over at lunch and the temperature dropped considerably (as the Intermediate Heroes found out!!) I could not believe that after all the warnings, signs and tannoys about warming tyres, the idiots still managed to have someone fall on every single warmup lap!!

Anyway I have attached a few photos:

Some great pics there guys and I was pleased to see you had some decent weather too. Can't wait to get back on track, so hopefully be seeing some of you at Donnington in March!

I was driving up North from Gatwick Sunday morning after coming back from skiing in North America and noticed the blue skies go grey as we progressed on our journey.

The Blade felt really good all day long, I struggle to see why the press call planted and forgiving handling boring!! I must admit that on most bends my knee touched down followed quickly by my toe sliders, I don't think that I have got much lean left so I will need to start working on my lines better to go faster.

Also, because I fear highsiding so much, I really don't get on the power early at all. So this could be an area that needs attention to go quicker.

Same here on the 1000, powering out of corners is always a concern! I reckon you need to move you foot into a better position to avoid the toe sliders touching down - I had the same problem.

I found that when I wasn't trying to get my knee down I was much faster, and in fact last year the instructor told me to forget about dragging my knee as it was slowing down.

re Highsiding - tell me about it! I was paranoid about the back letting go, especially as the TLR has a reputation for it! I think i'll either have to have the bike set up, or trade it for an R1 or something before my next trackday as the handling was lethal at high speed. That coupled with cooked brakes made for a buttock-clenching last few sessions! LOL hehe

I was musing in the bath last night (yes, musing) about whether or not I should've had RaceLab look at the bike. The bird (sorry, I don't work well with names) that had it done seemed really pleased with the results.

S2B, get some rearsets which will move your feet higher and further back. Try and get the ball of your foot onto the outside 'ball' on the end of the footpeg when you're cornering. See if this helps?

I've got size 13s and this isn't a problem, although this did mean that my heel was rubbing against the tyre yikes, which has meant that a pair of daytona evos now have a hole in the heel. I've cured this by bolting a length of dexion (shelf racking gear) tot he swingwarm to stop my heel rubbing against the tyre!!!

This is exactly where my foot is placed when I ride and my toes are still touching the deck. That is why I have started to think about getting some rearsets to get my foot higher.

I have removed the 2" hero blobs and the end of the peg is scuffed so basically it doesn't matter where I put my feet, I am going to scrape something.

I just hope I don't run out of tyre!!
