It happened on the way home yesterday. I was't paying attention and decided to brake heavily over a manhole cover! Front wheel went, slid down the road and came to a stop against a coach parked in the layby. Got away with some bruising and twisted my thumb in unusual directions but pretty much ok. The bikes a bit of mess, mostly cosmetic luckily but I need a new mirror and indicator - one of my gloves is ripped, the visor is scratched and few little scuffs on my jacket but nothing too bad. Managed to drive back to the office and head off home in the car!

A big thank you to both the coach driver and the guy in the blue mercedes who helped me pick up the bike and get it off the road - all your help was very much appreciated!

Even though it was about as minor as you can get it still shook me up - a little to the right into oncoming traffic and it could have been very different!! Should teach me to pay attention...

Sorry to hear this mate, but try and look on the bright side.....you're pretty much ok, and the bike isn't a wreck....AND you know what you did wrong. All part of the learning process I guess.

Good luck, and keep it safe!

Cheers.

Sorry to hear about your off! It’ll take a little while to get over it and get your full confidence back, but as has already been said, it will likely make you a better/safer rider in the end.

Ride safe and enjoy.

Always scary when things go wrong. Glad you're OK - bikes can be fixed easier than bodies.
