Hi Guys,

Not a regular in Bikers banter, but would like to pick your brains please

Have a leather jacket which is less than a week old and its developed a stain, which I am gutted about. It looks like grease (food?) of some kind. Do you know anywhere in London who specialises in cleaning leather clothing? All the dry cleaners are useless near me and want "send it away"-and no guarentee to be cleaned. I want a specialist and speak to them direct, have you guys ever had any dealings with anyone?

Thanks

Peter

Not sure I know anywhere, but is it really worth it?

After a summer of riding it will be so covered in dead fly guts and dirt that the stain won't really show. I have a couple of leather jackets that have never ever been cleaned and one in particular is filthy but I think it looks better!!!

I clean mine using bike shampoo on a sponge. And then maybe jet wash it.

Once a blue moon it gets some leather treatment.

I don't think this is a bike jacket chaps but one of them there fashion ones.

OP: You want to aim the question at harley riding accountants/middle-managers I would have thought. Personally I let the dead flies build up until they form a big dried up scab which then peels off but I can't imagine this is on much use to you

I'll be be honest guys I am not a biker-yet. Unless you count a Minimoto

As guessed its more of a "fashion" question, hoping that as you guys have daily use of leather wear (thats sound a bit dodgy, but you know what I mean), I wondered if anyone has come across a decent cleaner.

Agreed leather looks better when battered though!

I was also going to recommend a visit to a tack shop for horsey products, not only saddle soap but the conditioning treatment you put on after to replenish the leather.
