Sorry folkes ,getting off the topic a bit. I have a 2000 R1 which i've had from new. I kept it when i bought a K5 to go to nurburg on, when i came back i put the K5 away and rode the R1 for the rest of the year,i decided this year to give the K5 another go, and with a few mods i'm starting to like it, however i can ride my R1 just as well or as fast from A to B as K5, I'm not the best or the fastest out there, but anyone who knows me wil tell you i dont hang around.
To sum up, i think all the super bikes over the las t 5/ 10 years even, you will take to your own ability, not the bikes. So the same as me i bet your about the same on a 7 year old bike as you are on a new one, its just a new one feels and generaly looks nicerer !!

The sad reality is that on an unknown road, the bike has cack-all to do with it. It's the ability of the rider to read the road that makes the difference, and it's this that puts the interest in my biking at the moment. I bought my 1100 18 years ago, and whilst certain aspects of its handling were sh*te, you could still blow away incompetent nerks on it.PS Gixer has two xs, and disappointed has two Ps.

That would be two x's you pedantic twerp, and anyone that tries to ride fast on an unknown road is an accident in waiting, had a well sorted R1 before my giXXer and I'm quicker on the newer bike, the fact you can't say the same suggests you reached the limit of your ability on the slower machine.Other than that fine posts.
