Saw a woman come off her bike in central London this morning. What does everyone do, thats right stands there and watch her struggle. What do people in cars do, thats right drive round her and gawp!

It was only a low speed topple as she went for a gap and a car blocked her, but she was still a little dazed and shaken. I managed to walk half way down a street and cross a dual carriage way by which tme a couple of people had started to help.

Disgraceful!

So to the lady on the Aprilia, reg Milli GB. I hope you don't ache to much in the morning.

Not all people Phill. You went to help as did the couple that 'beat you to it'. Well done for trying to help.

Fair point, most then. This was rush hour in Central London. Not one car stopped and of the 10s or 100s of people on the street only about 3 made any effort.

Shamefull, absoloutly shameful.

I should point out that a couple of days after I got knocked off last week, it dawned on me that only one person and a drunk tramp came over to help me. Again noone got out of their cars. Not good is it!

Sad. I remember binning my bike on so diesel at a T junction, no-one got out to help I was laying on my back unable to move with my bike stuck on the verge. All people did was wait for the traffic on the other lane to clear so they could overtake me. I had the stuffing knocked out of me and must have laid there for at least 10 minutes.

Hope the woman is ok!

I got knocked off by a TVR near bank a few years ago during the rush hour, nobody actually offered to help me but several dropped off business cards with a quick "I'll be a witness" type statement, then wandered off!

It must be a London thing as when I came off mine in deepest darkest "Blue Tongue Land" (Suffolk) a couple of weeks ago there were two cars that came along directly afterwards and both stopped and helped me pick the bike back up having checked I was OK. One even offered to either run me home or to wait until my wife turned up to collect me.

Pedestrian bloke knocked the missus off her bike a couple of years ago, and very decently laid underneath the toppling bike so as not to cause any damage. He even proceeded to help lift the bike from on top of him for her. So, some people are decent.

I got knocked off in the middle of a huge 3 lane traffic jam on the A2 a couple of years ago filtering, the only person who stopped and got out of their car was the b@stard that hit me, everyone one else just couldn't wait for me to pick up my bike and hobble it off to the hard shoulder.

2 years later I'm still struggling with soliciters to even settle at 50/50 when the er changed lanes and knocked me off smashing my bike, biker clothing and damaging my ankle. Just because there were no witnesses and as I am a biker I'm clearly guilty of some traffic offence because cars never are.....
Next time I get knocked off (its bound to happen again in traffic) I'm going to stay on the ground until a few poeple have got out so that I can ask for witnesses.

I need a cup of tea now

When a biker fell off on the 3 lane approach to the Runcorn Bridge, I and 2 other parked our cars stopping all traffic, whilst we helped him up and checked him out.

And when I saw a biker crash into a field on a country road, at least 5 cars stopped.

Must be the SOUTH !!!

When I was knocked off my Bandit, the woman proceeded into a garage and started filling her car up, leaving me in someone's driveway - she did cheerfully shout over "You alright over there?" as she filled up, but it was left to a friendly biker (also on a Bandit actually) to stop and help me lift the bike up. When it went through the insurance she claimed that my witness (Bandit bloke) was ficticious and he had to write a letter stating that the reason she didn't see him was that she was too busy filling her car with juice whilst he picked me up off the deck!
