I've been touring scotland for 11 days & racked up almost 2,800miles on the RF recently. got home yesterday & decided on the trip i need a more upright bike as im just not keen on the lent forward thing.
anyway went out a testrode a few things today & tomorrow im talking figures with a bloke about one. as soon as i got on it, it felt right. easy to ride, does everything i want & basicly it was just 'me'. hopefully temptation will be resisted, as i suspect a GSX1400 with power commander & acokovic (spelling?) system could be a bit much for a recent learner unless im careful.

I think Hertsbiker had one of them for a while. Extremely torquey from what I've heard.

yup sure felt it. just under 30mph in 6th, wind on a little bit of power & it just goes. how it'll go when using all the power i've no idea. should be fun though

If you like touring then you'll regret losing the fairing.

Try some more bikes. Fazer thousand is nice to ride.

fazer is ugly as sin though & i've done some long trips in crap weather on my old bonnie. the lack of a fairing is probably a good thing as it'll keep my licence happier.

Ditch the fly screen and rear carrier.

Bike looks cr@p with them, looks brill without them.

Can beat a nice big naked bike.

I'm definatly getting a naked bike next, thats unless i get a 1098s

sorry mate as much as i agree with ya they are staying. i do too much touring not to have a rack, will be getting hard luggage for it soon as well.
might try without the screen at somepoint, but i dont mind it lookswise at the mo.

Yea, like the look of it, saw a CB 1300 today, liked that too, reminds me of my youth. (naked bikes)
