Short term Bike insurance?

A mate has just got a GSXR and has said I'm more than welcome to borrow it. Only issue is insurance. He doesn't have an actual policy for the bike, as he is a trader it's on his main policy, so I can't be added to it.

Is there any companies about that do short term insurance like is available for cars?
