...I just stupidly pulled out in front of on the sompting avenue roundabout in Worthing. I was being a tit and not looking.

Bikers are quite hard to see at night. Anyone else on here experienced crap unobservant driving today?

tongue out this was about 3 minutes ago (well 3 minutes before the first post), so you must have acted quickly.

Jesus, you must have been quick to post it, or do you have a PC in the car.

My house is about 2 minutes and 45seconds from that roundabout and the computer was already on (with pistonheads open - for efficiency)

I suspect there is a point at which, as a biker faced with a car that has pulled out in front of you, you realise that there is no evasive action you can take. If - when - that day arrives for me, I will aim my third of a tonne motorcycle at the car driver's door. If I'm going, you're coming with me.

That half a second actually seems like a couple of minutes in your mind and at no time do you think that there isn't something you can do to avoid him.

It happened to me 12 years ago so I know, and as a result I haven't worked since.

Oh, and at 30mph the front of my bike crumpled like a cardboard box whereas the car only had a small dent at the bottom of the driver's door, so don't think that your taking him with you unless your massively over the speed limit and going like a rocket.

yes

I managed to swerve and hit the bumper instead of the drivers door of the clio that pulled out without looking. The drivers dad managed to re-attach the bumper, which aside some lost plastic, no other damage to the car!! The bike was written off. Bent chassis, pancaked radiator etc.

All this at 40 kmh. Managed a 10m flight and 1 operation later and I have to wear an ankle support for life. Joy.

I must be lucky.......

Incident 1 - numpty drove into side of me as he moved from lane 3 to 3 without looking whilst travelling at 20/30 mph on M20. Damage to bike 1 bent crash bung, and scratched fairing, and ripped waterproof trousers. Damaage to car - front, wing, front passenger door, back passenger door, and back wing trashed with dents and scratches from

Incident 2 - Van drives into back of bike as I leave juntion onto roundabout, plastic all over the place. Nothing off my bike - was the vans front bumper coming off, and then van driving over it!

I find a HID Xenon front light upgrade + Hi vis vest are two good things to make you get noticed.

I've often wondered what would happen if a car pulled into my lane on an Mway.
I guess it doesn't matter if they clip your front or back wheel or simply go into the side of you - It's going to be bad right?

I had some stupid prat decide to do a U turn right in front of me as I was coming up to his inside right hand side. He was parked with his left indicator on and he suddenly switched it off and just went right for the front of my bike. Lucky that I counter steered as soon as I seen him do that or I would not be here to tell the tail.

The funny thing was an ambulance was parked right in front of the guy doing a U turn and I can always remember the look of horror the woman in the ambulances passenger seat had on here face as she seen the events unfolding.

Needless to say I stopped the bike and gave the so-called driver a few shaky hand gestures and a few F’s and S’s behind my helmet.
