I see a lot of people on their bikes, nice tight leathers/top of the range jackets & trousers and freeze their boocks off.

But my god am i glad i don't look cool! I'm warm!

I brought a nice coat (Frank Thomas) and a pair of thick leather gloves (Carl Lewis) for the icey season, and tested them out! better than my other stuff (alpinestars) all in al a good day of christmas shopping, still on the hunt for my trousers though.

Whats everyone else wearing this winter then (if you're not all wusses)

When you're sliding down the road at 50mph+ (as I had the pleasure of doing some years ago) the leathers suddenly seem quite useful, so whatever you wear on top keep the leathers on underneath).

Good point, tell that to the Deer who was walking across it.

70mph. My VFR turned from white to red quicker than any paint shop...

termals, jeans & lewis textiles on my legs. cheap & cheerful maybe, but they seem to do the job as my first 'proper' gear.

Thermal top - Tshirt - Arlen Ness 1 piece - Hoody - £20 hein gericke winter gloves and toureg boots jobs a good un

only thing thats cold on getting to work is my finger tips but i can live with that.

Only thing thats bothering me is the build up of water and grit on the visor thrown up by cars, when i go to wipe it offf it just smears everywhere and i can see even less eek

Rukka very thin thermal base layer, leathers, outer jacket with thermal lining. If it's below zero I might add another base layer. On legs I usually stick to base layer, thermal leggings with wind stopper and leathers, if it's wet then add a waterproof outer layer.

I always wear leathers, having come off whilst wearing a textile jacket and leather trousers, textile (even a £350 Dainese fancy job) offers very little protection, it ripped wide open with only a light 30mph spill, the trousers were almost untouched.

HG textiles and thermals. I tried the leaters/thermals/fleece combos for a bit but got too cold. I found I had less moments in the textiles because I had more control both due to the fact that I could feel my fingers and because my brain wasn't frozen to buggery.

Pissing about with separate waterproof layers was always the bit of biking I liked least.

Just awaiting delivery of a new Rukka Armax suit from Germany (big savings verus the UK!) as my old Rukka stuff is finally admitting defeat. I agree with Mark, being comfortable and warm is essential for good riding and reaction times in the winter.

Full HG leathers here with Regatta base layer and normal clothes.

Did 20 miles at 110 on a certain northern A-road last night with the thermometer on -2, only one finger complained about the cold (and that was with the heated grips on).
