Well Guys its probably 24 years since I last road a bike on the road and that wasnt strictly legal hehe but I've competed and won in a fair few trials and done the odd bit of offroad since.

After stopping at the ducati shop this morning and looking at the new monster 696 I've gone and booked a cbt for next month, not only that but another mate has will be joining me....

so look out for a couple of (almost) 40 year old new bikers shortly <LOL>

cheers

Welcome to the dark side. if you want a comedy viewpoint on the whole thing, look up Nervous. He's going through the whole thing now (but probably with more anodised tat than you'll want on a Ducati)

Good luck mate, doesn't sound like you'll need to much though.

Agree with the hazard perception bit.....total toilet.

Welcome to the party!
Be careful what you post about legalities on here- we have a grass who's cost me my job before wink
Otherwise - good luck.
Not sure the monster is the best first bike, unless Duke have seriously improved reliablity recently, which they have alleged to have done, but i'll believe it when I see it wink

hehe I think the statute of limitations has run out on that one... although the biggest laugh i've every had was hiring a kwaka z1100 at 15 whilst on holiday in Thailand... no licence no lid and could barely touch the ground yikes it was only for an hour but what a rush...

in that case here's another

I only stopped at the bike shop on a whim to look at what the differences were on the monster range. the 695 quickly became the obvious option. its also a bit lower than the others, and although im 6ft I have short legs!!!! so thats handy.

I wanted to sit on one, and the one not on a bike stand was the 696 pre-production demo they had..

mmmm sold.... im just resisting putting a deposit down now for one of the first batch !!!!!

5.5k on the road, and they seem to hold value quite well
