Just had my "refresher" road session, after a CBT last weekend - and at the end of it, I was given my DL196. I've been recommended to do a 4 day DAS course, which I'll look at arranging in the near future.

I went through a major bout of pessimism 10 minutes into the CBT - I was convinced I was making a pigs ear of it all. The instructor was fantastic, got me off the bike and gave me a pep talk. Got back onto the bike and definitely made progress again, although I am sure that I can improve my slow riding/U-turns further.

Summary of the road session was that I could make my gear changes smoother and more practice at slow riding is required, but I need to concentrate on the things I can do well, not let the things I can't deflate me. That's very much against my nature though, as I tend to beat myself up if I can't do things perfectly banghead

Time to book up my theory test and look at getting my further training for the DAS booked up as well.

Am really chuffed bounce

Certificate of completion for a CBT. It "validates" your provisional motorcycle entitlement on your licence.

You need a DL196 and the theory test pass certificate to take your practical test...

Probably going to book the theory test first and the DAS at around the same time. I think I might go for some extra lessons over and above the 4 days, see how I get on.

Looking forward to getting onto two wheels and developing this new skill. Just need to stop getting deflated when I can't do things 100% straight away biggrin
