Just had my booking confirmed with Crescent Suzuki for nest Wednesday for the following to be done/fitted:

PC3, Dyno & Custom Map
Pipercross Filter
Pair of Corsa 3s
Service
Renthal Sprockets/Afam Gold chain
Sato rearsets fitted
CRG shorty levers fitted

I'm really excited, it will be great to have her all ship(bike?)shape for the rest of the summer bounce

Had booked for Tuesday but was told they couldn't do it as the BSB team need the dyno for the day... cool

I've just done some similar mods to my K6 in the last couple of weeks...

Akrapovic stubby can
K&N filter
Gilles rearsets
MRA double bubble screen
Pazzo shorty levers (arrived yesterday, not yet fitted)

Hoping to get a PC3 and a custom map next :-)

All in it's going to cost about £1150 for that lot. But that doesn't include the cost of the rearsets & levers which i git a couple of months ago.

Not cheap, but MUCH cheaper than an RC8 or 1098!

That's a lump of cash!!

Sorry for the ignorance, but what's a PC3?

Cheers.

PC3 or PCIII = power commander, they are on version 3 nowdays.
if you dont know - they plug in & work in series with your ECU to give you fully modifible fueling.

Jonny,

Bunch of cracking mods there. My Gixer is running a full Jap Superbike Yoshi GP titanium system, PCIII, BMC filter etc, and Crescent dyno custom map. There's nothing better IMHO.

Matt,

That's nice to hear. I don't know anyone who has used them for dyno work personally, but figured they can't be too shabbywink

I've got a Blue Flame tri-oval twin port Ti can that i've had on from new. It sounds great but low speed on-off throttle is as jerky as feck. Makes me look like I have no throttle control when trying to impress the 15 yr old girls round town...hehe
Hoping the PC3/map mods will sort that right out...

Cheers,

Johnny

Soooo,

Had everything fitted and done yesterday. Spent all day at Crescent watching the BSB bikes being put back together (and bloody Tom Sykes bike nicking my dyno time). Got carried away and had a lovely carbon hugger fitted as well.

The bike feels so much better. Throttle response is just so crisp and instant, the rearsets provide much firmer, easier shifting (i'd forgotten just how tight that make the shift feel) and the levers (IMHO) make a quick take-off and braking much more positive.

Probably the most noticable improvement for me is the tires. Corsa 3's are very much the way to go as far as i'm concerned. Just a huge improvement if grip, stability and feel. Awesome.

Overall I'm well pleased and I got a gain of 10bhp once the map was done, so not too shabby at all, i feel.

Also too a 'Busa out for an hour while i was there (felt rude not to really). What a fantastic bit of kit. So much power yet encouraged me to ride slower round town due to it's easy, lazy power delivery and instant grunt when needed. Once on the open road though it really came into it's own, just relentless...

All in all a good day! biggrin

Mods sound cool, was the 10HP up on peak or was that the biggest gain?

Base run with no map: Max power 101.4, Max Torque 43.35

With Crescent map: Max power 110.02, Max Torque 47.82.

What's wrong with 'Busas then? Or are you wanting one?

Jonny,

Glad you're happy with it. You can't beat proper set up and dyno time. Top gains there too, you must be chuffed. The most noticeable thing I found is the crispness and smooth throttle response that you alluded too. Makes the bike so much nicer to ride.

All you need now is another 64bhp at the back wheel and you'll have one like mine.winkbiggrin

Cheers
Matt

P.S Corsa 3's are the mutts. I use them and wouldn't entertain any other tyre.

Yep, well pleased with the gains. Not really sure how much i was expecting but getting on for 10% is good in my book!

Took the bike round to show my mate last night, only for him to point out i have a screw sticking stciking out of my new, sticky rear tire furious. Not best pleased.

It will have to wait til June now for me to get it to a shop so i can remove it, incase it is all the way through. I'm hoping it's just a little'un and won't caused any issues.

Still can't get over how good the Corsa's are, and how much more confident they've made me.
