Bad start...........
Discussion
When i was instructing doing the CBTs, i always used to sit on the bike with the student standing beside me,pull away from them then raise my left hand the second the clutch was fully engaged and the lever was fully out when i was going away from them, seemed to make it stick in their minds that the clutch should be smoothly and progressively let out.
They will only cancel the test if its seriously bad conditions.
Emergency stop in the wet will be done at about 15-20 mph. Remeber its not how quickly you stop it's simply that you can do it in a controlled manner. As long as you don't grab the brakes you will be fine. other than that all I can say is watch out for manhole covers and all white lines.
Best of luck in the test tomorrow mate. I sat mine Friday last week... that feels like ages ago 250 + miles on the bike already

best of luck with the test today badger, as Rutt said only if the conditions are really dire. I passed my test in October in the rain, and i have to say it made me a lot smoother rider on the day, just be careful on the emergency stop to not lock up the brake... drop by later on and tell us how you got on.
Lo chaps!
Well then, typically it was bucketing it down all morning, so had to take it a bit more careful than usual, but everything started to come together. Went down to the test center for 1pm and headed out with the examiner. A good ride, longer than expected, and I did take a wrong turn on the emergency stop! Found my way back, so he didn't hold it against me! Nailed the U-turn, had been doing them all morning!
Result - Pass with 2 minors!
I think my instructor was as pleased as I was! Nice relaxing ride back with the earpeice out, was great. My dad is well made up. (first he knew I was doing the test)
Thanks for all your advice and best wishes guys. Well pleased now! For anyone worried about their DAS - You might feel like crap the first day or so, but then it'll all come together. The instructor will bk you, but it's for your own good! You'll hit a point where you'll just find a groove, and it all comes together. Don't judge the course on the first day! (Like me!)
Cheers everyone. Pizza is on the way, and I just cracked open a brew!
