Didn't see that coming! I wonder if it'll actually happen, though.

That will be one way of ensuring he finds a way to make the Duc go biggrin

Good luck to Melandri; I hope it works for him.

In the meantime...

Bring back the porn-star!

Sete Gibernau has finished his testing at Mugello only 0.4s off Stoners best race lap time, on race tyres as well.

Might not be such a silly idea now if he can do that on the Ducati, moving Melandri onto Hopkins bike.

well the sword has been raised

stated Filippo Preziosi.

`It is always a pleasure to work with an experienced rider like Sete and his feedback will undoubtedly help us. His comments are very similar to those made by Casey and Vittoriano (Guareschi) and this confirms that we are proceeding in the right direction.
We will evaluate with him whether there can be other opportunities for him to work with us on track with our bikes. He has certainly demonstrated that he is still able to ride very fast.´

`I hope that this result will also spur on Marco (Melandri) and Toni (Elias).

Ducati have confrmed that Melandri will still ride at Sachsenring and Laguna.

Then I think there will be a split in the summer and either Gibernau or Canepa will take the ride.

Canepa would be much cheaper, but doesn't have the race experience. Where as Gibernau will get them points.

Gibernau has lapped Mugello within 0.5 secs of Stoners fastest lap on race tyres, so is proving the bike is able to do it in the hands of someone ele other than Stoner.

Dream race result once this has all come together:

Gibers wins.
Marco (on a Kwak) comes second
Rossi third...

Would be awesome if someone else could run at Stoners pace. Even if both Red machines run off into the distance, I couldn't see Gibbers letting Stoner passed* so could make some good TV

  • He might this season but not next season when he starts at the beginning.

...Rossi goes to shake Sete's hand and Sete collapses to the floor having some kind of psycological episode, crying for his therapist.

Winner Sete leads the first three finishers up the steps to the podium only to find Rossi already standing there.....

It would be good to see the Rossi/Sete battles again, they used to make interesting viewingsmile

I'm not sure if Sete will be able to keep up with some of the new boys when he finally gets back in the hotseat!
