Can any of you guys help me with this.

I have a 2006 C6F ZX6R, that wont start when on the sidestand however when the sidestand is up it starts and runs fine. Once it is running and i kick the sidestand out it cuts the engine out?

any info welcome.

It should only do this if you're in gear. If you're in neutral and it does it then there's a problem somewhere - probably in whatever tells the ecu that you're in neutral rather than the circuit for the stand at a guess. If you're in neutral do you get the green light on the dash?

Yes i have a neutral light.
Odd. Wiring diagram time I'm afraid. Essentially the green light indicated that the circuit in the gearbox which tells you when you're in neutral is working. The fact that it cuts out shows that the switch on the stand was working (if it wasn't working I'd imagine the bike would either not start or the stand would stop it under any circumstances). So somewhere one of these signals is getting lost (probably the neutral light). Somewhere in your wiring diagram will be the thing that decides to cut the engine if and only if you are in gear and not in neutral. You need to trace the wires back from the gearbox sensor and the sidestand sensor to that thing (probably the ecu) and look for breaks, grounds and dodgy connections.

Good luck,

Mark
