Hi all, I never realised there was a bike section on here or I would have been over sooner. I followed a link into here from the 'knock a biker off' thread and thought I'd have a look around!!

Anyway Im 26 and Ive been riding for about 6 years. Im on my 6th bike, started with an RS125 (fantastic), onto a CBR600 FX, next came a hornet 6, then an SV650 (zzzzzzzzzz), my 06 Ninja 636 came next and that finally made way for my current love - My 04 GSX1300R Hayabusa stealth.

After a couple of back injuries I needed something that could put a big smile on my face and let me do a lot of miles in relative comfort, the busa came along at the right time and its been fantastic. They dont handle anywhere near as bad as speculated (as long as you have some balls to throw it around and not let it boss you about!!) and are even quicker than I would have anticipated!!

Spent many a year spending thousands on cars and eventually moved to bikes, not looked back.

Ive been through the photo section and must say theres plenty of gorgeous machines on here. Im going over there to put mine in the thread soon wink

Anyway just saying hello and Im looking forward to having a browse about and getting to know you lot!

Be safe

Thanks lads, most interesting was the 6R. Was fantastic balls to the wall, all the other time it was like riding a razor blade bareback to bournmouth, with ringing ears, aching wrists, numb fingers and a bad back smile

Hello mate wavey

Tell me, was the move to the Busa a shock with regards to the weight?

Thanks guys!!

With regards to the weight Im not sure how much difference it has made. Braking was affected straight away (the brakes are a bit pissy on the busa as standard) so learning when to go against nature and grab a fistful when riding hard was essential.

Paddling it about can be difficult, Im 11 stone thereabouts and only about 5'8" and if theres an incline its quite hard. The bike was lowered when I bought it, its back to standard now and Im comfortable with the height - not as roomy as you would think, its not even a stretch to the bars! I even managed to move it round a gravel carpark on a recent meet, and a bit of greenlaning on the way there ha ha. I remember being nervous of pushing my RS125 when I first got it, I guess you just progress. Oh just remembered my biggest weight problem, I just got some new winter gear and nipped to the Mrs house to try it out - in the middle of summer - and the battery died. I tried to bump it but misunderstood the power of the compression on these things and it stopped dead when I let the clucth out. I had to push it back UP the hill, in winter gear in summer. Good god!!

Riding it around town you wouldnt know it was that heavy of a bike, its very well mannered and the weight is fairly central (if maybe a little lower down). Its a big pussycat really, the power isnt cut throat bonkers like my 636 was but instead it just wallops you from anywhere in any gear and keeps pulling all the way.

I did lose a little weight one morning when the rear spun up coming off a roundabout in the rain in 4th gear though wink
