I agree - I bought the R1 after seeing from the FB crew what these bikes were really capable of. Calais to Cannes was a legend.
The vids sure helped shift some bikes!
Its all over now tho and isnt the world a safer place!
i loved the guitar rifts through the action....some pretty slick stuff from when people wernt scared to open it up cool

now riding at speed or arsing about on a bike is seen in the same light as mugging an old lady by some people

"PISTONHEADS SPEED MATTERS" ... as long as you dont talk about it wink

Yeah Some real characters too.
Whatever happened to 'Jimarillo' and who was the bloke who gave the monotone voiceovers?
Perhaps FB should do a set on back order. Perfect for those winter nights in the garage!

The chap narrating was Colin Schiller (Chiefy), who was also responsible for most of the music on the vids!

I have most of them on DVD now as converted them from my video copies.........whistle

You should still be able to get a few of them from Amazon etc? Just in time for Xmas!

Scott.

Even saw an old Performance Bikes Video for sale in a local Hein Gericke shop recently..........

Yep the music was addictive and how many of you hummed it under your lid as you were out on your bike.......what did happen to Jamirrolo? That long black coat and the wheelies on the sea front were legendary!

That flip was filmed from another angle IIRC. The bike just ended up spinning and sparking down the road to where the others were parked up - just missing the R1.

Absolute quality - god knows what their insurance cost, the amount they destroyed, broke and crashed.

What is shown on the videos IS as bad as drink driving and should be treated in a similar way. In my view it is just as likely to end up with someone dead or hurt.
Oooh... you were doing ok right up to that point...

does anyone else remember the very first PB video that they showed on the stand at the NEC (it was never sold) it featured some guy cracking on a bit on a ZZR1100....it was the biggest crowd ive seen around a stand at any bike show cool no-one had seen anything like it before
cool

superb smile
That I do, Mark Forsyth rode the ZZR(and later binned it at high speed racing a bi-plane down a runway, as you do...) and I think Rupert Paul rode the very first EXUP in the same vid as well, im pretty sure it was on sale..
He was sat having a fag by the time Rupert arrived...

What was it like?

"Ow, my arse is burning" Bump, thrown in the air, "ow, my arse is burning"... Repeat till you stop sliding down the runway biggrin

That tune - I remember humming it on the M4 one day!
Picture this - just picked up the cbr6 from its first service with Gorgeous White and coming back on the M4 when I end up sat behind a rolling road block that then stops all traffic to retrieve some bits of mondeo from lane 3. As the boys in blue waved me off onto several miles of empty M4 I started 'humming'
- I don't normally hum that much when riding on the M4...
A classic.

Hey who see Frosty at the bike show? Did want to speak to him to see if he's doing the North West 200.....

Also ordered back dated Fast Bikes Magazines for when the 996 SPS was released and you forgot how good that lot was at testing, Frosty, Jamirallo, Shakey and Gary Mason, got them through the door at the weekend well chuffed......

Ha, the reason I don't ride a superbike on the roads anymore.

We used to watch these videos a lot, then as a group we all got superbikes from the day we passed direct access, it went mental, everyone was out practicing all the tricks then as a group we'd just bounce off each other and the level of progression and competition was ridiculous.

Been for a few trips off the road though. Packed it in after about 3 years before I ended up in a box.

No of course not...We've all done thesame as your
tale, its the "I gave it up before i ended up in a box" b@llox that gets on my nerves, be honest , you lost you nerve,mum/girlfreind wanted you to buya nice car, you needed the money, scared yourself or some other excuse but dont blame how you choose to ride a fewyears back as the as genuine reason, maybe it'll work with your hot hatch mates but not here.

After the pulling the leg in round the bend episode, "At this point we decided to call it a day, and move onto something safer, like the over the blind crest 3rd gear, one leg off stand up wheelie`s perhaps". nuts
These video`s were legend with me and my mates, and inspired us to ride like mentalists also. biggrin Great days.
As an after thought nobody ever got hurt, (much) wink

I know those comments break me as well, the usual "I'd love a bike but would end up killing myself".
