I don't think I will be the only one to say this:-

However I do remember having to more or less wrestle my test bike, that I had ridden for 2 days, from some little oik that wanted it for his first day of training on the DAS. There was no way I was doing my test on an unfamiliar bike!

Edited to add - Too late! I was not the first to say it!

And I sent it and myself across a field after I stacked it off the side of a airstrip whilst practicing on it. So it had a few extra scratches after that.

Best fun 'off' ever though.

I pity you poor ER5 people (whilst better and quicker than the bike I passed on) I've had to ride one fairly regularly as a loan bike while mine has been in for servicing.. not nice sorry.. but then the loaner is a complete shed at my service place and has an engine (prob its worse feature) that just doesn't feel or sound happy reving.smile best bit is getting my bike back freshly serviced!

Passed my test on a CG125. It was a rusty old dog, but I still managed to lose the examiner in Tunbridge Wells traffic. His last words through the intercom were "head back to the test centre..."

A Black ER-5. Like that pictured.

Although it had some bars around the frame. Which were rusty, dented and scratched to fk.

It got to 5k revs and sounded like it would explode.

This is not me but its close to what I looked like biggrin

Silver 1984 CB100N, 8.5hp of throbbing ohc 99cc single fourstroke power. I saw 65mph on the clock once.

Took my test Jan 6th, it was bitterly cold, wet, and the 6v electrics couldn't sustain the lamp as well as indicators so I had to switch the lamp off before using the indicators, and rev the tats off it at junctions to stop it stalling due to overload. Two years I endured that machine.

A Honda CJ250T fitted with a huge Rickman fairing.

I totally fluffed the emergency stop and the examiners words were ‘I hope I never step out in front of you’, but he still passed me!

I then upgraded to …….
