Reccomend me a 125cc?
Discussion
Can anybody reccomend me a good 125cc?
Thinking of getting rid of my Car as I can't afford to run It! I had a little Scooter when I was 16 so am thinking of getting myself a little 125 as they're so cheap to run!
After something geared, maybe a supermoto style Bike?
Budget's only about £600
Cheers

You could get bikes in that price range but the reliability thing is going to be an issue - For it to make sense financially you'll have to do the repairs yourself which means getting tools if you can't borrow or have them already.
The Honda CG is a good shout, it doesn't look cool but it'll do the job fine.
You could get one of those Chinese bikes you see for less than £700 brand new but I suspect you'll end up fixing plenty of bits... Although on the plus side most of those parts are probably copied from other bikes anyway so might be easy to find.
I think it's a stupid idea tbh - Unless you really want to run a bike, I suspect you won't be saving a huge amount over running your car, unless the insurance difference between that and a bike are huge.

Thinking about an RS 125?
Well put It this way I pay £90 a month on my Car and the Insurance on the 125 would be much cheaper, then there's Petrol and Tax Is about £15!
I don't mind getting something a bit 'tatty' and doing bits and bobs as I go along..

I had an RS125, similar price too... It was a total shed when I bought it and I reckon I spent just under £400 making it nice in the end doing the work myself. Great bike to run, and the cheap tax was a big plus side!Well put It this way I pay £90 a month on my Car and the Insurance on the 125 would be much cheaper, then there's Petrol and Tax Is about £15!

£90 Per month on what?
By all means go for it, I loved my RS125 to bits... but I'm not sure it'll work out cheaper all things considered.

You do realize at that budget on a RS125, it will be a case of doing a lot and often.Well put It this way I pay £90 a month on my Car and the Insurance on the 125 would be much cheaper, then there's Petrol and Tax Is about £15!

Having been down that route, 1k would probably be my minimum spend.
The Aprilia wasn't unreliable as such, it only broke down once and that was due to the engine cylinder blowing up - £100 or so all-in to fix if I recall but took me 2 days to do.
These bikes tend to be ridden for a year or so and then progressed on from, meaning that the servicing tends to involve doing the bare minimum to keep it on the road... Which sadly means that eventually things like the front and rear shocks are going to need changing, consumables like tyres and chains/sprockets will probably need doing... This may need doing in the time you own the bike, it may not - But if it does, it isn't cheap.
I can't say don't do it because I did the same thing in buying cheap, I'm saying look at as many examples as you can and budget for repairs because you'll probably need to do some.
