I was using BT-021s on the Bandit and thought they were good until I tried the PR2s.

Thinking the same maybe relevent now.

Dealer seems pretty keen on getting me onto the Roadsmarts. Bigger profit margin? hehe
Run a mile DunloBs are never good.

Cue, the rantings of some DunloB lovers.biggrin

Mate, it's not a problem, I'm not fussed either way.
If I got rid then I'd only have the ballache of finding a replacement.

It's only because I'm a tart that I want to try something differenthehe

Which RSV do you have?
Have you ridden a firestorm?
If so how do they compare?

I don't have one matehehe
I've ridden my fil's Falco- the 7 has more top end and hold the road better.
The Falco has a shed load of mid range grunt but get's breathless at the top end just when it's getting exciting.

Can you stretch to an SP-1?

PR 2's bed in very quickly. Having now had probably eight sets of PR2's on bikes including 2005 R1, Fireblade and now on the second set on my 2007 Tuono they do not need many miles to bed in.

Unless new tyres are slicks they can easily be scrubbed in when it's wet.

I do 1,400 miles a month on my bike in all weather conditions and the Michelin PR 2's are in my opinion the best tyres for normal riding in all weather conditions that are available. As I said above I have had eight sets of these tyres and I make them last i.e. 8,000 - 9,000 miles a set.

I'm still debating between going back to PR2s or trying Roadsmarts when I finish off my Ultras. Roadsmarts seem to give more feedback according to the reviews which I like but don't last quite as long which I don't like. I might get the Roadsmarts just so I know & if they are a bit crap they'll need replacing before winter anyway.

DL,

I'm genuinely curious as to what you mean as I can get away with 100 miles before I can take the bike to within 4-5 mm from the edge of the rear tyre. Perhaps you had a bit of a duff set. As I said I've had eight sets now on different bikes and always give them about 100 miles to scrub in and then they're fine.

Not a Dunlop lover per se, although I loved the D207GP's back in the day.
Was at FWR getting some tyres for the 7R and got chatting with the boss. He reckons the feedback he's been getting on the Roadsmarts and Sportsmarts has been fantastic. Overtaken the Michelin Road and Power 2CT's as the tyres of choice.

He said the new Pilot Pures (Power 2CT replacements) have not been well received and are not selling very well. Expensive and no better than the 2CT's, plus not as light as Michelin say.
