has anyone fitted a short shifter?
my gear lever has been shortened and finding gears isn't the easiest and the IPSCO one has been highly praised but does it actually make a difference?

Good timing with that question.... Just fitted an Ipsco short shifter in my Gen 3 and tried it out last week. Yes its a noticeable improvement, particularly going from 2nd to 3rd.

Should have added that I also have a shortened gear stick which I've reused with the Ipsco. I'd say go for it.

Thanks for the info, looks like I’d better order one

Might also be worth checking for a worn gearbox mount, this is more likely to affect shifting when driving in a spirited fashion.

I have the Hurst shifter fitted in my car Its Not a short throw shifter as such (as you can't undo the shaft).
But it is short. Its a big improvement over the OEM shifter.

I too have heard god reports on the IPSCO shifter smile

I did have to take a notch out of frame to allow the hurst shifter to select reverse. smile
