While informing about a ride in the Ring Taxi (BMW M5) I was told there will be a new Ring Taxi available in 2003: a modified Viper GTS.

Apparently, the car runs suspension and aerodynamics mods based on the GTS-R racecar.

A lap in the passenger seat costs 250 euro. A bit pricey for me but I thought you might like to know.

Have they sorted out any new drivers for next year yet. With Michael Martini having left last year.

I assume (hope) Sabine will be still be driving but who else?

How can you book a Ring Taxi lap when the public times for 2003 haven't been published yet?

I learned about the Viper when I called Nürburgring GmbH to book a lap in the Ring Taxi. The number is 2691302178 (not sure what the international access code is from the UK). Just call them and they'll mail you the details.
They told me about the Viper because it seems the M5 laps are already booked for the whole year! Viper laps didn't have this problem (but are much more expensive).

BTW, regarding the 2003 dates: you can still book a lap, you just have to contact the Ring again in April to get the actual date (although changes are it ends up being a date in 2004...).

Yep, that's them.......dial code is +49 or 0049 for those with analogue telephones.
Well worth the ride......the M5 is great, so the Viper will be even better, but watch the bite in yer wallet!

My brother took a picture of it when he was there in September last year - yellow/red I recall and offering rides @ €250. I'll try and get the picture off him and post it here...

Here it is as promised - a picture taken Sept 2002. The sign is the advert at the ring - anyone read German?
