At a petrol station. We had just been for a drive around London and we were making our way home.
We pulled into the petrol station to fill up. while i was paying i heard some noise outside. It was some one screaming CAR FIRE CAR FIRE!!!!
so i looked out the window and there it was my poor car sizzling with smoke.
Then two fire engines came and started pulling out all my matts inside and cutting the biggest hole ever into my Viper. I felt like crying!!!!
The fire turned out to be the Catalystic converter which had over heated.
WARNING- GET YOUR CATALYSTIC CONVERTER CHECKED!!!!

Firstly you tell us you have a Viper and love it to bits and then ten minutes later you tell us it has caught fire. That`s a bit strange isn`t it?

I had a similar proplem with mine I left it ticking over from cold and after about 5 minutes smoke was coming out of the drivers side were the cats are located. luckily no damage a hose pipe was near by.I now have 3"cats and also had the pipes heat wrapped and the whole area is much cooler.

Any reason why you cant remove the cats and replace them for MOTs?

..Didnt mean to barge in, a lowly Elise driver, but that is what alot of us do.. (not me officer )
