Its finally clicked with me why Chrysler havn't informed me about this important safety recall. Its because I have moved to Outer Mongolia and the Mongolian DVLA havn't passed on my change of address. In case Chrysler just happen to have anyone interested enough in public relations or the safety of their customers, my new address is 2 Urgutz Pass, Mongolia. Guess I'll just have to get the local blacksmith to sort things out. That Chrysler UK, they just dont get any better !

your local blacksmith probably knows more about the Viper recall than Chrysler, and no doubt he'd do a much better job to, think I must be living in number 3.

Hi Folks, Just to give you an update on what happened with Steve on Wednesday.

A DC Techie Engineer had a look at Steves and another Viper (more on this in a mo). He took lots of pictures of the welding, etc. and during the conversation agreed with Steve that the recall could have been handled somewhat better!!! There seems to be room for different interpretations of the 998 recall with regard to the need to fit the rear plate if there are no cracks. DC are checking on this!!!!

The upshot seems to be that DC have no real idea of what is involved nor do they have any organisational capabilities (DC Germany have allacated ALL the recall work to two dealers, one in the North and one in the South) seems very sensible to me, but this is the UK, don't forget!! P** Ups in brewerys springs to mind.

We all await the results of the report from the DC engineer and the agreed way forward with great interest!! I will chase on Monday for progress.

To sum up, I am sure that we all know:

1. Some owners have not been informed of the SAFETY RECALL work that is required.
2. Some have incomplete work on their cars
3. Some have had their cars completly screwed.

All in all, a very sad situation and a very bad reflection on the DC Corporation.

The other Viper that was at the garage when Steve was there was a Blue / White one, so unless resprayed, it needed the 998 Recall work done. Would the owner of Viper B16 KOY please get in touch with me (07947 120369) or Paul Lacey (07802 633743) to share their experience of the recall work with other Viper owners, and you are welcome to join the UK Viper owners club.

We will even let you see the FOUR that Steve now has in his collection, (way to go Steve, way to go!!!!).

News Flash,

Just heard from DC ref., Toms car. The dealer in Horsham has admitted that they have co****up and are willing to re-do the work with a DC Engineer supervising or DC will pay for the car to be sent to Norwich and get it fixed there.

Seems to be a no brainer, as the Norwich people have carried out the work on the Snetterton racing Vipers.

Tom, DC (Susan) will contact you on Monday to discuss.
