To the owner of V888TVR - a lurvly Chimaera that was parked up in an M1 service station car park on Friday evening - THANK YOU VERY MUCH. As I pulled up near you in the car park the girlfriend said 'oh thats nice you can have one of them!'

Result!!!

Now if anyone has any ideas as to how I can convince her that the £10k we've got put aside for double glazing should go towards a TVR

Try this one:-

The destictive exhaust note of a TVR can be heard from a great distance, and is therefore a very useful herald of the arrival of the lord and master of the house. If you fitted double glazing she wouldn't be able to hear you coming home. Therefore she wouldn't be able to get your slippers and dinner ready for you when you open the front door.

You cant take double glazing for a roof down blast in the countryside...

Get her out on a test drive at a dealer. When she's got the bug start looking to buy one. Prices start from £12K for a very early one, so there should be one out there in your price range.

"...darling, why don't we kick back this summer and have some fun (travelling??), Chims or Griffs have pretty much bottomed out depreciation wise so we could maybe invest the double glasing money over the summer and resell it for the windows later in the year..."
After the test drive maybe.
Know where i'm going with this...?
Best of British...

It can be done. I managed to divert our "new Bathrooms" fund into a TVR a couple of years ago.

Not exactly sure quite how I managed it, but I think that hinting I might get a bike instead had something to do with it. I think she thought the TVR was safer + didn't like the idea of getting on the back.
