After having just purchased my 94 4.0 Chimaera just had a main service in March (36000) ago I noticed that after a run the the nearside (passenger) wheel became very hot to the touch so I took it to my local TVR specialist who diagnosed the problem as "seized" calipers on the disc who replaced the whole front axle both calipers, discs and pads.
However after a run on Sat I am experiencing the same problem - still running very hot and is going back in tomorrow for them to check this out as well as give the car an overall check over.
2 questions:
How warm should the wheels get and do I have any redress thru the dealer who originally carried out the 36000 in March 02 as its just cost me £350

Thanks for your advice
Rich

Do both front wheels get heated up?
Have you checked the wheel bearing? - grab hold of the top of the wheel & give it a few hefty pushes/tugs - is there any play?
You can normally hear bearings when they are worn however....
If you jack up that end of the car, does the wheel spin freely?

cheers,
Craig

My CRX used to have this problem. Which was remedied by a caliper strip down and new seals. The pistons were not releasing due to a build up of rust. Dont know why they have to replace the axle but still, you can ask them that. I burnt my hand on the alloy wheel when the wheels were binding. Wheels should be warm but not too hot so you cant leave your hand on them for 30 seconds etc.
