Absolutely serious. He makes more of a valid impact to these forums as anybody else. He gets answers from people of merit and exposes others that talk the talk.Edited by macdeb on Monday 1st October 22:34

Taken from the other thread:
Take your pick, which is it?

I think some of the owners themselves are doing a particularily good job of running their own cars down. (no outsiders required)
How many times have you seen clueless owners asking for advice on doing jobs that are obviously well past their abilities? (readers think, I wouldn't want to end up with one like that).

Maybe they're asking to see if it is outside their abilities? I'm so glad I didn't start doing my exhaust manifold gaskets! macdeb said:

I'm not so pedantic. There is nothing wrong as I see it in someone asking a question. Thought this was a forum for all, and to debate is good.macdeb said:

No problem with that, I would do the same if I didn't know about something. What I wouldn't do is ask everyone untold times, ignore all good advice given and then fugg it up anyway because I "think" I know better.
................ and that is the point.
I will say it if nobody else will - Dom, that looks a very neat install. Try as I might, I cannot see the hair dryers so much in evidence on other conversions. Am intrigued as to what it's spec is for a standard 400 Chimaera, what else would have to be upgraded, and what the total cost would be, fitted.

I do like it but will it be compatable with high lift cams and higher CR ,alot of people may not of fitted wild cams and up the CR if this Turbo kit had come out before now ..This means reverting back to more of a standard setup to see larger gains .
I thought Super Chargers and ,turbo`s liked flat Cams like the The Piper 270 and low CR`s`
What boost is safe for Setups like mine Stealth Cam etc ..Can`t see it working to its optimum ,surley the cam needs changing with part of the Turbo install.
I don't think you'll have too many issues with the sort of cam you're using. Supercharged engines can have issues with blow-through, but in a turbo install you have higher pressures in the enxhaust so blow through issues don't occur like the do in positive displacement supercharger installs. How high is your CR? 11:1? 12:1?

I'm seriously thinking about this for next year.Mine's running about 12:1 with a very smooth highish lift cam that will give at least 340 brake and 350 torques,
Given this state of tune, I'm sure many of us would like a very approximate indication of power increase?

You obviously don't have much of an opinion either if you keep changing your mind about what you think.Edited by macdeb on Tuesday 2nd October 09:40
