I think I might be able to tell the difference between a session with AJ and a session in a 500 bhp Turbo Chimaera
Both likely to end badly, though... tongue out

I was thinking more in terms of the engine spec the rangy 4.6 having a lower comp and more restrictive heads ?
Bang a Turbo straight on; you just can’t buy better performance when mapped correctly, heads are only restricted when you build Big Aspirated engines etc, there’s no restrictions were turbos are concerned, only by your right foot smile

Thats not really true though Dom in my experience...

Heads do become a restriction of course eventually.. Air can pass through the smaller size valves till a point even if its forced in. The limit is just higher being forced...but to say 4.0 standard heads would flow 500bhp I would say nah!

been there done that got the t-shirt smile

Std engine that starts with 190 bhp @ the wheels and then you stick a turbo on with only 11lbs boost then makes 345 bhp @ the wheels with 430 ftlbs, who really needs 500 bhp on the road and who can actually drive it to its full potential ?

So what will a V8D engine with stealth cam ,think stage 3 or maybe 4heads (not sure) with a real 340hp at the fly
Make with the correct Turbo, good mapping and a sensible boost make at the wheels make ?

4.6 @ 10 psi made 405bhp and 541 lbft, 8.5cr

Wanted to go more but out of flow on 4.0 heads, 5.0 heads would of made it a beast. Been sold on last weekend as im building a 6.3 twin turbo. The owner has a set of 5.0 heads I hope eventually he puts them on, (hello Mat)..but he was more than impressed when I took him out smile

Turbos are def the future smile

Nice. I have a TR7-v8 in many pieces at the moment. Like you say, almost any engine will fit. Mine used to have a 5.0 TT Rv8 in it but that was 12 years ago. It's configured for a TT ls7 with a TH400 at the moment. Everything fits nicely. My engines in bits for the time being as I've also got an ls9. The rear axle's an 8" with discs and 10 x 17 rims. It's 'located by a lower 'A' frame mounted behind the seats and it has trailing upper links which locate to the chassis rails by the wheel well. The front end has proper wishbones, no roll bar and Mitsu Evo 300mm brakes and discs. I've got adjustable coilovers all round. The downside is it a soft top, lol but I have widened the sills and beefed up the tunnel. Oh and it hasn't turned a wheel for a very long time but I may get around to it sometime soon.

LT1 with paddle shift, lol.
