Turbo upgrade on RV8
Discussion
^ Lol, I forgot to say I'm using Rover front struts and custom hubs to suit the TR7 wheel pcd, lol. To be honest it's a bit of a nail but all the good bits are there. It would make a nice sleeper. My chargecoolers are from NASA or some missile division of the US. They've got something to do with rockets.

Mike your tr will never see the road again unless you stop all the upgrades and just build it!
It's motivation Rob. I need to get out in a few fast cars. Having said that, I am about to roll it forwards in the workshop, lol. Maybe then I'll do something with it. My chargecooler tags, it should go like a rocket with these labels. I won't need wheels, lol.

Bang a Turbo straight on; you just can’t buy better performance when mapped correctly, heads are only restricted when you build Big Aspirated engines etc, there’s no restrictions were turbos are concerned, only by your right foot
Dom
looking like a plan just need to find a suitable gems motor to start with then.Dom
has anyone tried insuring a turbo motor, will classic line still touch it ?

Nice. I have a TR7-v8 in many pieces at the moment. Like you say, almost any engine will fit. Mine used to have a 5.0 TT Rv8 in it but that was 12 years ago. It's configured for a TT ls7 with a TH400 at the moment. Everything fits nicely. My engines in bits for the time being as I've also got an ls9. The rear axle's an 8" with discs and 10 x 17 rims. It's 'located by a lower 'A' frame mounted behind the seats and it has trailing upper links which locate to the chassis rails by the wheel well. The front end has proper wishbones, no roll bar and Mitsu Evo 300mm brakes and discs. I've got adjustable coilovers all round. The downside is it a soft top, lol but I have widened the sills and beefed up the tunnel. Oh and it hasn't turned a wheel for a very long time but I may get around to it sometime soon.
LT1 with paddle shift, lol.

A question that bothers me too. It must be possible, but at what cost? Ditto putting a 400 bhp LS engine in a mild Chim.Gassing Station | Chimaera | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
