These are what's on mine but they are 10 years old. As Ian says below I can't find the correct size (for mine) anywhere in the same Toyos.

I know that the EC tyre ratings are to be taken with a pinch of salt but the Dunlops were better in every respect than the T1R although I will admit that the tread pattern does not look as cool as the T1R grumpy

They are being fitted early morning on 2nd December so will post my thoughts after my first (careful) drive out on them.
Allow 100 miles for bedding in before giving it total Heinz with the right foot - you need to scrub off the release agent.

Cheers for that; I am taking it easy at the moment anyway on old tyres and wet/greasy/leaf-covered roads so will do that for a few miles more on the new rubber.

I've just bought a complete new set of Toyos.

The front ones are and 205/55/15 and are V rated. You were fortunate in getting any W rated (unless they were old stock) because there are none available in that size anywhere. If it came to anything with an insurance company if they quote the owners manual at me; there are no 'Z' rated tyres on 15" to buy so I fitted the highest speed rating I could.
I searched through various tyre outlets locally and could not get anything in the correct rating. I mentioned in passing to Dan Taylor at Taylor TVR, and he got them through from TVR parts. This was about 4 months ago.

They must have bought up all the stock because no other tyre-selling website stocks them. About £20 per tyre more than I paid.

Which makes me wonder how old they'll be? The 205/55/15 V rated ones I bought were 7 months old by the date on the tyre wall (a lot of folk don't realise there IS a date on a tyre).

If they've been kept indoors out of UV light and still in their release agent, tyres will last a while without deterioration I suppose. They were better than the 18 year old ones that were on the front (and the wrong size, 205/50/15)!

TVR Parts have bought the moulds or done a deal with Toyo and I am reliably told put the logo on to ps off Porka owners who use the same sizes.
Look on the webpage and several sizes are offered with the statement "at great cost to TVR Parts"

Yes, they must have updated the web page recently, as a few months ago it hadn't mentioned that they had them re-manufactured. I was unsure whether it was a misprint on their web page, but Dan told me it was the correct rating and that TVR had got them made specially.

No other car tyre place could get hold of the correct rating. I even spoke with Bridgestone Head Office to see if they were going to remanufacture these. Phoning around various tyre places there was apparently only one Bridgestone in the whole of the south east. TVR parts are the only place you are going to get them in the correct rating for the fronts.

Mine came from the factory with 205/55 on the front and 225/50 on the rear and with PAS. Think the factory just bolted on whatever they had.

The owners manual for my 1996 car was actually printed in '95, where they suggest 205/60/15 for the front. I've ignored it and fitted 205/55/15 because I wanted Toyo front and rear, and they don't make the 60 profile.

Even 20 yrs ago, 205/60/15 were getting hard to find in 'Z' rating so TVR shifted to 205/55/15. Now we have W and Y rated with specific speeds rather than the vague Z (150 mph +) rating.

V rated tyres made in 2017 are likely better than Z rated tyres in 1996 anyway. Brand of tyre pending that is!
