Hi Folks
Just got my car back from Joolz and I'm over the moon with the results.
He swapped my Megasquirt for an Emerald ECU and give me 3 maps to choose from.
Stating point of 300hp with a couple of niggles. I had a misfire which turned out to be from a plug extender that was starting to break down and the bigger injectors I had weren't big enough so he changed them from 250cc/min to 310cc/min.
He managed to get 362HP 420ftlb at 12psi boost. not bad for a 4.0l
They're really interesting figures compared to my 4.0l. I have the Powers system and I only got 355 BHP but 481 lbs/ft. Dom said he could get a bit more if I had bigger injectors too. Be interesting to see how other 4.0s do. Just got my car back from Joolz and I'm over the moon with the results.

It would be interesting to see the figures with the same dyno to compare systems. I wonder who's would prove best ?sapper said:

Its nearly a year since anyone updated this thread.
There must be lots of you with turbos, s/chargers, big mods who have not applied to join Chilliwhizz's little club?
The esteemed secretary ("all round good guy etc") must be dozing in his rocking chair....
Is this the new club that has been formed to give some healthy competition to the TVRCC?There must be lots of you with turbos, s/chargers, big mods who have not applied to join Chilliwhizz's little club?

Right...There must be lots of you with turbos, s/chargers, big mods who have not applied to join Chilliwhizz's little club?

Lets get a few things straight here....
Firstly, this isn't 'my little club', it belongs to the members, of which there are quite a few... I only got it off the ground, I am also only the (self appointed) secretary, for me this was unpaid work, undertaken at a time when I was exceptionally busy both working and socially. OK, busy working then... Our esteemed chairman, as many of you will know, is his straight line holiness Lord Dangerous Derek, who can often be found blowing engines up at weekends or rebuilding them on week days.
Given the number of peeps who have (since the club was inaugurated, back in the mists of time) gone turbo, it seems to me we need to redefine our earlier understanding of what modified and acceptable (with proof) power outputs might be in today's world of forced induction madness... Or, perhaps, have two classes of membership... NA membership and FI membership.... Usernames could be modified to reflect this, for example I could become ChilliWhizz NA... And my good friend N7GTX could become N7GTX FI...
I'll have to leave it here as beastie and I are off to a TVRCC regional meet somewhere in the depths of South Norfolkshire... at a Pub...
So, lets have some suggestions chaps... and thanks to N7GTX FI for giving us this opportunity to reinvent the MCC
Best wishes,
MCC (self appointed) club secretary,
Chilli
Who's hand do I need to scratch with a big brown envelope filled with cash to get entry into this once asteemed club Chilli's off playing Bond movies every night, Derek's to busy slaying normal cars as we speak to take up his responsibilities,
Anyway what's the requirements, I vaguely remember 350 something as a number used to gain base entry level
Im upto 360 torques now with Clive's Y well in my mind anyway
It's shiny as feck, has big brakes and a a Dif that works

I'm sure you're always welcome in Chilli's club Al. It started off at 300 bhp then moved up to 350 as they didn't want any old riff-raff getting in
Then they started arguing if the bhp was at the flywheel or wheels but I can't remember what our very esteemed secretary and Dangerous Derek decided
I only just scraped in with 355 at the wheels

I just seen this as I've been quite busy rebuilding my car. I finished it Thursday night, went on the dyno on Friday, ran it in at York on Saturday then had 2 days racing and won a round of Hotrod Supercup. I haven't had time to change the running in oil out of it yet!
So the MCC.
If your Chimaera has a dyno printout of 350 bhp minimum at the fly AND/OR a drag race slip with a terminal speed over 115 AND/OR an ET of 11.999 or less then you qualify for MCC membership simple.
I will soon announce the date for the 2017 AGM to be held in Peters motor home at Shakey so watch this space.
