Will you have problems with the MOT, if noise levels are increased and emissions are higher with no CAT.

You'll have problems with no cat from the emissions point of view but theres no noise limit on the MOT.

I can't see why people go down the no cat route on the Griffith as its fast enough anyway

However we're talking about removing the fibreglass wadding in the rear silencer boxes which won't effect emmissions only noise level

Because it makes it louder and faster, any anyone who tells you a car is too loud or too fast is a lying through jealousy (except sprinters who have a good reason).

Out of interest has anyone actually proved that decatting makes it faster?

I'll guarantee it will make it much louder though

Just curious as my Mazda seemed just the same but louder and other people I know have lost power from de-catting on other cars.

If you replace the y piece at the front you will get better performance , its easy to do and you still have the cats in the manifolds.

I don't think this is a good idea. The pre-cats in the manifolds are for cold starts only. I doubt they will be enough to pass emissions tests.

The usual mod is to remove the pre-cats and keep the main cat in the y piece.
