How do you get into the headlamp assembly to adjust the lamps and replace bulbs etc.? I have a '96 Chim and cannot see any obvious way of doing it.

I haven't got 'the bible' yet and need to adjust the headlamps for the MOT, so any info. would be great.

The car also failed the MOT for having no light on the rear number plate. I have searched for previous threads on this and it looks as it it is illuminated from inside the boot? I haven't looked yet, but is this correct?

Cheers,

Jamie.

Yes this is correct, I think you need special number plates to allow the light through, if you look in the boot you will see the lights under the lock. Have a look in the front wheel arches behind the lights and hopefully you will see little hatches that will allow access to the back of the lights. If not then I am not sure. Hope this helps

Cheers,

I'll have a look tonight.

Incidentally, I had a look at your profile and we have almost identical cars! Both '96 4.0HC Chims, mine is starmist crimson which if not the same colour, is very similar to yours. Different wheels though.

Spooky!

Jamie.

If there are no access panels in the wheel arches, then you remove the grill and feel around in the dark!! Grill access is a bit like removing/refitting windows on yer average saloon car.
