Does anyone know if it is possible to get replacement glass for the front spots? A stone has smashed one of them and now bits of the glass have fallen out (bit late for those carbo discs unfortunately!). I guess I will be looking at a new unit if these can't be replaced (although the light still works)so if that is the case can anyone tell me where to get it (including part no' if poss)and whether it is a job my feeble skills may be able to handle? The current ones have Cibie stickers on them and I assume these are the originals on a 97 "p" plate.
Thanks in advance.

You do have to buy the whole unit I'm afraid. Cheapest option is straight from the UK Cibie distributor:

Valeo: 0208 297 1439

£95 inc VAT for a pair

I am reliably informed that the TVRCC sell lens protectors for the Griff/V8S spotlamps on their web site. Prevention is easier & cheaper than the cure as they say.

Forget the poly carb disc things with stick on / fall off patches holding them on, what you want is a decent self adhesive headlamp protection film. Mine survived a hundred hards through a gravel trap with rocks the size of your fist more or less intact - one spotlamp cracked but it's still waterproof and working a year later.

I bought something called "Lite Skinz", basically a pack something like 600mm x 200 mm with two 4mm thick self adhesive sheets in.

Have Amourfend ones and r easy to put on(God Knows How they do the Whole front end though?).
They seem like a clear rubber that u just heat up with a hair dryer and stick on.

Only trouble with Armourfend is that it's in contact with the glass so won't protect against a really hard whack. With discrete disks you've got the air gap. I bought a pack of four Capri headlamp protectors for £10. And I've still got two left!
