What did you do in the garage yesterday?
Discussion
Yesterday I stuck the carpet back onto the passenger footwell wall by the ECU.
Today's job will be to unearth the heater fan wiring from under said carpet and remake the connections. No fan yesterday evening, but 19 degrees, so who cares?
Today weather 7 degrees and I am doing the Rutland Rumble this afternoon...

If you made the Rutland Rumble I must have missed you Anthony, just made it in time myself, I got to the Royal Oak just in time to join the back of the line. Just right to give things a bit of a shake down before tomorrow, can't afford any mishaps with the missus in the passenger seat !
Spent the day confirming the truth of that odd but invariable workshop law that dictates all AN10 connectors that fit together flawlessly and smoothly on the bench can only bind and snag when assembled on the car... But after inventing a few new swear-words, now seem to have an oil cooler cluttering up the nose

I was the car behind you, Richard, from mile 3 to about mile 40. Enjoyed your petrol fumes.....over fuelling a tad I thought, especially on hard acceleration, but "they all do that, Sir".I then let those six cars coming the other way rejoin in front of me, and cut and ran for home when we got to the A1 junction.

See y'all at Burpley tomorrow!
Finally got around to cleaning her and trying to do something with the paint.
Needs a respray really but I want to start doing track days so it's not really worth it.
Rear quarters and front wings were kind of hazed, looked like cobwebs so I bought a rotary polisher and gave it a go. Came out really well, might give it another run next weekend to get any final micro swirl marks out. I've never been into cleaning cars, I think normally i'll wash it once or twice a year, but I didn't mind this actually, quite enjoyed it which is bloody weird.
before rear quarter
none of the pics i took seem to show the shine properly apart from this one a little bit

Too much alcohol altered my brainwaves and I thought 'I could make those heatproof HT lead socks out of a bit of exhaust wrap and some wire'.
Well yes I can, but it would look terrible. Good gear that pear cider
I thought of a similar solution, I have heat proof socks. I considered adding exhaust wrap to the manifold but only where there was close proximity to the socks.Well yes I can, but it would look terrible. Good gear that pear cider
Why do these little jobs turn into big ones?
I thought I'd refit the steering rack yesterday with new ball joints and gatters only to find the lock nuts seized, eventually got them off but wouldn't go up past where it was seized so now need a die and clean the threads. So try again tonight, or as that old master says"try not do or do not there is no try"
