What did you do in the garage yesterday?
Discussion
My fking swirl pot has split along the seam in the middle of it, is this a first as I can't find any other mentions of it?
Is this just a pressed together join, it doesn't look welded? Going to try and bodge it up for a couple of weeks as I need the car and have no time to work on it, it's just been one stupid thing after another this year

I think I have one in the garage I can check tomorrow first thing. Is this just a pressed together join, it doesn't look welded? Going to try and bodge it up for a couple of weeks as I need the car and have no time to work on it, it's just been one stupid thing after another this year

Ta matey, I appreciate it but I've bodged it up for now and it shouldn't take 10 mins to get someone to weld it up, it'd be a waste to throw it away Just think that it's weird that all the other bits have been welded but this join in the middle looks like some sort of rolled, pressed seam.
So decided to get stuck in today. Jacked her up on to 4 axle stands and removed the exhaust system. Then removed the propshaft - leaking from gearbox output seal. New seal on its way. New Hardy Spicer couplings ordered too - no play or wear but while its off may as well replace them as they only cost a tenner each. New exhaust mounting bobbins ordered for the exhaust support plate - destroyed by oil leak.
Then decided to reinstall my clutch servo which I'd removed as there was soooo much heat under the bonnet. No room in the front wing unfortunately.
As you can see, its now in the boot. Got it properly bolted down and vac pipe connected. Fitted a stainless NRV at the plenum and there is a plastic one on the servo too. Hydraulics tomorrow (if it doesn't rain) and waiting for a new clutch slave to fit too to complete the job.

Won't the location of that servo get in the way when storing the roof in the boot? Then decided to reinstall my clutch servo which I'd removed as there was soooo much heat under the bonnet. No room in the front wing unfortunately.

Lots of good stuff
Just about to do this and mount my servo in the boot as well. Can you tell me the sizes of the fittings required at the servo end?

I'm using Kunifer, not plain copper pipe, as its stronger and more corrosion resistant.

No, checked it and plenty of room I know the rear end on the 95 on cars is Cerb like but assume the boot is still the same size?I intend to move it to where it should have been in the first place - Above the tank.

I know it is tight in the front wing, but it does fit if you persevere with it.
I nearly gave up and thought of sticking it in the boot too, but it just felt wrong there, and like you said, I was worried about dropping the roof onto it or something else.
You have to take the canister out first though and I recommend not trying to connect to the master cylinder in the wing, but do both connections underneath, next to the slave, and leave the pipe in that goes up to the master.
That way, if you need to change back for whatever reason, its just a case of taking the pipes off and moving the connections around.
