I think they are there for the use of the Village People, referred to in a different thread.....

Number three son has taken over half of this garage.

Bugger, so short of space now!

More an excess of family than a shortage of garages, methinks - time to boot a few out.....?

No2 son is coming back from Bali for a month over Christmas. He will drive me insane as well as having a penchant for reducing my red wine collection. Bugger!

You have a lovely family......I am sure you will find their good points......somewhere. And the key to the Phazed wine cellar.

Fitted a little £2.31 buzzer from eBay to remind me that the lights are switched on when you open the door.

I often drive with headlights on down the country roads as the car is low and dark and drivers are idiots!

I have left them on several times so far and it won’t be long until I’m caught out if the battery is flat!

I just couldn’t resist at that price.
Free delivery. It’ll poke me to fit my starter button,,,, hopefully or it’ll sit in a corner like my rear drop links smile

I fitted a lights on warning buzzer to the Chim and P5B about 5 or 6 years ago and they've saved me from a flat battery a couple of times.

Just two wires from the buzzer, a positive and a negative.

Run the negative to the microswitch that operates the interior lights and the positive to the multi pin connector adjacent to the Bonnet release handle where you will find a wire that powers the side lights.

Any time I leave the lights on and open the door the buzzer buzzzzzs.

As you open one of the doors it is in the cill section of the car and it's obvious to see.

I’ve heard the starter system fires big volts across the ignition contacts.
If you fit a starter button you can get around this.
Does anyone know how to do this and what’s required as I have a lovely push button I’d like to also install.
Seems to me you can use a wire from one contact to starter button then onto second contact in the ignition switch thus starting engine without having to crank key.
Would I need a relay or anything else to do a proper job.
It’s an E Type starter button if that makes any difference.
Just throwing the idea out there really wink

Sounds good to me. So one wire going down into the footwell, one going down to the cill area. Just need to disentangle myself from the wiring to get out, so that should remind me I have left the lights on.......laugh

Arrh come on, we’re better than that. I’m assuming the switch wiring should come up via an access hole behind the carpet near the door pillar somewhere. Possibly using the door lower hinge access holes.

I really want my start button now,, I’ll get my sparkie mad mate on it.
He’s now got a fully electric Smart car with a curly plug cable coming from the wall of his house to the car. Charges it up once a week and good for another week. About £20 I think,,, I’ll check, it’s fast too.
