I thought the hammer item was a soldering iron, from the era before electric soldering irons. I remember my Dad using one
Google, chipping hammer/welding.

Looks like the handle insulates from heat. The head looks like a giant soldering iron!
Welder's hammer, for chipping scale/slag off fresh welds wink

You can also get a Newcastle version that removes the chips from fat slags hehe

Had some vibration through the car a few weeks ago. Suspect its the engine mountings have sunk a touch after a couple of years and now the manifolds are touching the chassis rails. Have never been happy with how close they were anyway - potential heat damage - so got a couple of ally spacers. Oh I'm soooo looking forward to fitting them........frown

Feel free to use the facilities at any time.

I must admit, I find that getting the mounts in and out is a pain/struggle even with a 2 post lift and a transmission jack!

I managed to get the car started.
It’s a few weeks since I had driven it.
I had quite forgotten what a joyful drive it is.
Had a 20 minute blast around the lanes.
Smile glued back in place.

Free fitting,,, that’s a new one me biggrin best value south of the Orkneys though hehe

I was sitting here thinking it’s not so hard changing engine mounts but then I did it with wishbones removed so plenty of access.

Will that be the engine builder (he's going to be very busy) or the house builder?

The wall to the right is being removed along with the asbestos roof then a new fibreglass roof right across to the yard wall.
It will nearly double the size of the garage.

Got the engine out, what a nightmare the engine to bellhousing bolts were!
Otherwise not a bad job just time consuming.

It’s my Chimaera’s 18th birthday today.

Now Niggles is allowed in the pub, I will have to find one with a wide enough doorway, or an all-year beer garden, and get down there to celebrate..

And change the door lock solenoid.

Oh, and it’s also my wife’s birthday ........ whistle

Use several extensions and a ratchet and work from the tail of the gearbox, easy.

Is that an LT77?
With a T5 I always take the bellhousing with the engine now.
