And one better set that I've been restoring to as new condition and colour matching in original Doe Skin with a Furniture Clinic kit
Hi, can you tell me what Furniture Clinic shade you're using please? I have Doe Skin seats too and they need refurbished / replaced so knowing the colour would be handy for when that time comes. Cheers!
Furniture Clinic have Doe Skin on the shelf, it's also on their website so easy to order.

Like many TVR trim shades Doe Skin is a very common Jaguar colour so it is readily available.

Had to move the Tiv out of the garage to put the Lexus in to replace the water pump.

Conditioner was showing 12.8 volts (low as usually shows 13.8 ish) - disconnnected it and tried to start it - "Click" - connected jump leads - "Brum- burble"

After completing the water pump swap on Lexus - reverse procedure - jump start TVR - back into garage. put on battery conditioner and leave overnight -This morning I checked the conditioner - showing 12.8 volts so it looks like the odyssey battery has died frown

Found the invoice and looks like its lasted 6 years.

Wondering whether to order 2 smaller batteries and install in parallel.so they physically fit better in the cubby holes behind the seats.

Hi Alun - Festive greetings Sir!

As I added above its 6 years old.

If I can find the other battery conditioner I'll stick it on to check if its the charger.

25th November I bought a new charger/conditioner. Well pleased with it.
22nd December I tried to charge the flat battery on my son-in-law’s Saab. No joy.
Next tried to top up the battery on my TVR. No joy.
Finally tried to top up the battery on my Mercedes.....

23rd December I took the charger back to the shop, who replaced it.

All three batteries now fully charged. Well pleased. These things happen.

If it weren’t for the second and third cars, I would have been changing the five year old battery on the Saab.

Stared at the cars whilst sipping my home made sloe gin and wished I hadn't been born a petrol head. It's a curse.

Had a bright idea - let’s be a bit more visible from the rear in the dark. Took advice of the FB Chimaera Forum and fitted LED stop/tail bulbs. Here’s the tail lights half way through fitting.

Genuine question: Not even while it's being maintained on the battery conditioner?

What did you do in the garage yesterday.
Reversed the BMW K1100 out of the garage followed by the Chim. Spent a few minutes wire brushing rusty bolts on the underside of the MX5 and splashing a bit of copperslip here and there. Lowered the lift ,reversed the MX5 out of the gargage and drove the Chim onto the lift, spent another hour cleaning the chassis and suspension of road dirt. Bit of copperslip here and there nothing to report. Washed em all off, leathered and dried them all, back on the lift and covers on all tucked away till spring. Best day of the holidays so far.
I cant tell how much Ive hated watching the TV for hours on end and eating way too much.

Removed four suspension units and removed the springs ready to send to Gaz for a service.

Cut a hole in the inner wing and part way through fitting the servo that I will be using as a clutch assist.

My charger/conditioner says 13.9 volts right now, as does my fag-lighter voltmeter, it’s the voltage the conditioner is applying.
Disconnect the charger/conditioner and my voltmeter goes to 12.4 volts. You are reading the charging voltage, not the battery standing voltage, on your conditioner.

I am in a quandary. I didn’t take my glasses to my local autospares indie, and only now, reading the packaging, do I see that they are marked not for road use.

I cannot be the brightness - today’s German exec saloons all have far brighter lights than the TVR, indeed even the Landrover Defender does, as it doesn’t have the smoked covers over the same lights.

I can only assume that it is because they can flicker or fail with modern cars with canbus networks (the ones that tell you a bulb has blown).

Perhaps wait for someone to explain why.......?

Here’s the link to Halfords offering, which is slightly cheaper than the ones I bought. lightlinky

Hmmm.
Rant time,,,,
I think this bloody idea of everyone getting brighter and brighter lights is bleeding madness. We are just blinding each other more and more, same with a hundred bright red lights when your on a busy motorway, totally obscuring things 300 yards ahead which is where you should be looking but all you see is a light show. Who comes up with these ideas. Speed is bad enough let alone at night when your perception is less, softer lights control speeds especially in rain or low visibility.
And breath

I’ll pop into Halfords tomorrow biggrin
