There's a slight possibility that I may be losing the luxury of a garage soon, so being a good boy scout by always being prepared I decided that I should get one of those battery brain things that people are always mentioning. Yeah, they're not cheap are they. Bought myself a big electromagnetic switch and a remote control instead and threw it in the boot next to the battery, makes an impressive thunk when you switch it on and off hehe

Changed the oil and filter. That involved draining the big oil cooler.

While I was at it, the sump was weeping a bit so whipped that off and resealed it with Wynns black gasket stuff.

Just building the enthusiasm to sort out the exhaust gasket leak but I think I will leave that until Alun comes down to give me a hand with swapping the differential! wink

Bled bricks for a third time after a run and fingers crossed, all seems well.

Clutch servo works well on the move but not in traffic, not enough vacuum, down to high lift cam and little vacuum.

Need to try a vacuum tank ideally or man up and live with the super heavy clutch!
Where did you site the vacuum take off?

If it’s engine side of the throttle butterfly you should have max vacuum at closed throttle.

Have you got a one way valve in the vac line?

I used the brake deco pickup point on the plenum.

One way valve fitted to the servo and tried a separate one as well.

Loads of vac on over run but little at low revs or idle do slow traffic and manoeuvring is pants.

Cam is H404.

If the cam has a lot of valve overlap, there may be a significantly reduced vacuum at very low revs due to exhaust making its way out of the cylinder into the inlet manifold. H404 is a pretty wild cam so I think you may be correct.

Treat yourself to a set of Clive F equal length ones. Would be the juicy cherry on top of the 5.5 cake.

Just seen this. Seems just the ticket but are there any in England?
