I've got a mate with a 4 post on wheels and 3 fixed 4 post style shelves he keeps cars on, he pushes the 4 post on wheels infront of the shelves to get cars on and off. I know it utilises the space but the fking effort to get a car down hehe

Well, exciting, very rarely do I get to work on my own car...

Rob who does most of the servicing now came over and enthusiastically started modifying my exhaust tastefully with the welder, some 304 plate and some 304 tube. Should be 'slightly spicier' than a standard half sleeve without being boisterous.

Gearbox has been out of the car to stick a 5L clutch on, and the box is back in now. Hopefully it will handle the extra torques for what my next trick is. At the same time I've rebuilt the slave cyl, replaced the clutch fork, stuck a new release bearing in, new slipper pads and removed the banana'd pushrod.

Spent the morning out on the drive replacing front wishbones. Bought a full set of wishbones from someone on Facebook ( he is also on here - thanks again Peter ) They had been zinc coated and sprayed black with something used on oil rigs, so should be good for a few years. So that they match the chassis, I have also sprayed them with smooth Hammerite ( white ) New bushes and bolts used throughout, and Copperslip on the bolts. Cleaned up the shock absorbers/springs while they were off. Only got the drivers side done before the rain ( forecast to arrive at 3pm , but started at 12:00 noon ) came . Only 1 Shock Absorber bolt gave me trouble ( seized in the bush ) , but as the old wishbone was scrap, I attacked it with my angry grinder ( favourite tool ) and cut off the nut, then an impact driver got the bolt turning and out it came. Tomorrows forecast looks good, so should get the passenger side done and then set the camber properly

Might as well put some new rubbers in there.
I replaced the originals about 5 years ago not that I’ve ever noticed any difference. thumbup

Quick observation. You need to take the front roll bar clamps and rubbers off again as the body will not fit with them in place. You can leave the bar and let it hang down against the front of the chassis then it will clear.
