Just got mine (ordered end of March) as they've been out of stock. Tried one on the Alfa and its great - same result, come on quicker and a lot brighter, and that is in daylight. Had red ones - BA15D are the ones you need. Use code "audiforum" for a 10% discount.
Just ordered 2 more sets for the Griffs.

I've just received mine, but I can't work out how to gain access to the bulb.

I've pulled back the carpet, and this is what I have (mine are the later non-Fiesta light clusters):

The rubber gaiter doesn't feel like it wants to pull away, or am I just not pulling hard enough? I don't want to break anything!

What do you do? confused
DONT PULL - twist the metal part - the thread is a clue

I fitted mine last year and have had no heat issues whatsoever.

I think there are a definite safety item for little cost. Side by side photos and a video here (scroll down the page a bit)

You have to gloss over the fact that the 80W claim is complete bks whichever way you look at it: they can't be a true 80W, because the LEDs would overheat or they'd melt your wiring; and they can't even be an "equivalent" 80W because the seller claims they are "nearly" as bright as a 55W halogen.

That said, I've got a pair of the stop/tail in red, and they're very good somewhat brighter than standard, but not ridiculously so.

I've just ordered a pair of 382 (P21W) in amber for the indicators. I'll report back when they arrive.

Please do because I'd be interested in these if they look/work well.

I am hugely confused about whether I should have ordered 382 with 180-degree straight pins (which is what I have ordered), or 581 with 120-degree offset pins.

So that will be the first question: will they even fit, or will I be sending these back to exchange for the 581s?

Don't know if it makes any difference, but mine is a later 1999 car, and it has also been fitted with colourless indicator glasses at the front. I have therefore ordered a pair of amber LEDs - my hope is I'll be able to try them on the front and the back, and see whether the flash speed is correct with both installed on the same side of the car.

So, place your bets - have I ordered the right thing?

So now it's just a question of whether they physically fit in the lens (sometimes LEDs can be a bit longer than the standard bulbs, although the stop/tail LED fitted fine in my rear light fitting, which appears to be very similar to the front indicator), and whether the flasher unit objects to the lighter load. The web site claims that these flash at the correct speed, but we'll have to wait and see.

Removing the front indicator was easier than I expected, if a little "James Herriot" - no need to jack up; you just have to reach into the grille up to your elbow and grope around until you find the metal collar of the light fitting, which unscrews just like the rear lights on a later car. I found the wiring was then long enough to bring the light fitting into view, making bulb replacement easy.

Can't wait for these LEDs to arrive now! (Tragic, aren't I?)

Re the indicators I've fitted this type;
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/121369472811?_trksid=p20...
and they perform fine. No issues with heat. They are a bit fragile though and easy to twist the top off if you're a bit gorilla handed.

These are a bit more robust (in amber obviously);

I find the correct colour LEDs are more effective than bright white ones as there's less filtered out by the colour of the lens.

As for the low brake lights. Well given that nearly everyone seems to think that it's 'good driving practice' to be 1/2 a car length from the back of my cars (when I'm in the TVRs) irregardless of speed then I fitted a third brake light to Samy (Tamy has one as factory). I fitted a mk1 TT convertible item. Fits nicely between the back of the rear roof panel and the boot panel. Not sure if the CHim has the same space / gap. Can't fit a pic though. Last year on the S-Club tour I had a lot of positive comments about how noticible it was / is.

I paid a lot less for them though.

Just ordered these as well, already have the brake lights upgraded, so would be rude not too!

Freebie giveaway alert!!!

I had a failed brake light on my Mk4 SEAT Ibiza, so decided to buy a second pair of these stop/tail LEDs for that.

Alas, they don't work in the SEAT. Despite it being a non-CANbus car, the car's electronics obviously has some way of sensing when it thinks both brake lights have failed. With these LEDs in, the glow-plug light started flashing. And there were other weird symptoms as well (with the tail lights on and ignition on, they light up at full brightness and there's no difference when you press the brake pedal). So basically I've given up and put conventional bulbs in.

Which means I have a pair of the LED stop/tail bulbs in red that I can't use. I have used the same bulbs in the TVR and they work fine, so I will try one of the 'new' bulbs in the TVR just to make sure they're not faulty.

The first person to PM me their address with a promise to bung £10 to a charity of your choice will get them! They cost about £35, but I CBA to eBay them.
